FINALS WEEKEND PART 2

People say sequels are never as good but they clearly didn’t see Back To The Future 2 or Grease 2 or Tonbridge Bowling Club finals weekend.

Sunday offers up more matches, more drama and probably more biscuits. Probably.

It’s the big guns day with men’s, ladies and club championships all on offer for those who can hold their nerve.

Come on down and soak up the last of the summer sun to the backdrop of bowls.

FINALS WEEKEND

Here’s today’s order of play on DAY 1 of FINALS WEEKEND

It’s all lead to this. Months of competition to be decided over two days of fierce competition...plus tea, biscuits and IPA. The best kind of fierce competition.

Please do come down and watch as there will be some quality bowls on show, and there’s a few moutth watering match ups over the course of the weekend. If you’re new to bowls and seeing this post, you’re more than welcome to come and spectate. There’s plenty of benches, refreshments and people on hand to explain how to know what’s going on.

Here’s to a great weekend and good luck to everyone involved.

As the 2026 season starts drawing to an end, the club Fun Day became one of the last events of the season. A bit of light relief before the serious business of Finals Weekend.

Huge thanks to Adrian for organising the crazy golf format bowls, to Karen and her team for whipping up a spread big enough to feed an army and Dave and Cathy for once again manning the bar for a club full of thirsty bowlers.

The only one not to play ball was the weather…but that didn’t stop us. Until next time!

TONBRIDGE DO THE DOUBLE!!

Huge congratulations to the Tonbridge Sevenoaks league team as they completed a triumphant double last Friday. Having already sewn up the league, they defeated Sevenoaks in the Marshall Cup final.

Well done to everyone involved including those who have competed during the season at any point. Pictured is the whole squad with both trophies with a mention to Brian Chalkin who wasn’t present.

Who said Bowls is for old people?!

Today is Tonbridge Cup day and our youngest member was taking it all in. A one day tournament where matches are only 5 ends. No margin for error! But bacon sarnies on standby for those who need some consolation.

Our neighbours Tonbridge Angels FC Angels Sports Bar have their annual Angel Fest this weekend!

It’s a packed line up of indoor and outdoor live music, b**r, c***r and street food. Best of all it’s FREE!!!

They will also be screening the England game on a giant screen. We’ll see you there!

MEET THE MEMBERS

For May, it’s time to meet Steve! Steve only joined the club in 2023 but took absolutely no time making his mark with 3 trips to the honours boards in 3 years. So it’s no wonder he’s never bowled a wrong bias!

His order at the bar is a Tea or a Diet Coke and he’s a name you don’t wanna see next to yours in the draw (unless it’s pairs!). He has aspirations of making it to the National Finals at Leamington Spa and we’d love to see him there too! One day, we might even lure him onto the committee.

SEVENOAKS LEAGUE - GAMEWEEK 2

It was another good week for TBC in the Sevenoaks league with 2 of our teams taking another maximum 6 pts. Tonbridge stay top of Div 1 and Priory extend their lead at the top of Div 3. Both teams with a maximum 12 from 12.

Longmead took 4 points off Montreal Park and Angel unfortunately gave up 6 points to Hadlow.

Still very early days and all to play for in both divisions. Onto the next!
