⛳Course Update ⛳️
Some fantastic progress on the greens over the last few weeks!
After a challenging spell of dry weather and localised dry patch, the greenkeeping team have put a huge amount of work into the surfaces through additional watering, targeted treatments, adjustments to cutting practices and careful management of turf stress. Even though there was only a small number of greens heavily affected I wanted to show those ones in particular with the progress we have made.
The response has been brilliant, with even some of our worst affected areas making a really strong recovery. 👏
Alongside this, we’ve been managing some anthracnose pressure and have taken the opportunity to heavily overseed affected and weaker areas. Getting fresh seed into these areas early gives the new grass the opportunity to establish and helps us continue building stronger, healthier surfaces.
Despite a few machinery challenges along the way, the team have kept pushing on and we’re really pleased with how the course is looking and progressing.
Attention is now turning towards our autumn/winter maintenance programme, which we hope to begin within the next 2–3 weeks. Plans are still being finalised, but are likely to include coring, heavy overseeding, topdressing and fertiliser applications, with targeted work to the tees also being considered.
A massive thank you to the greenkeeping team for all the hours and effort they continue to put in. 💪🌱
And a big thank you to our members for all the positive comments, encouragement and support — it really is appreciated by the whole team.
📸 Below are a few photos of greens and areas that were amongst the worst affected earlier in the season. It’s great to see just how far they’ve come!
Still plenty of work ahead, but we’re very happy with the progress and excited to keep pushing the course forward. ⛳🌱
Thanks
