Telford & Wrekin Hockey Club

Thanks to North Staffs HC for hosting a pre-season tournament for the u14 Tier 1 boys.

The boys came away with a win, a draw, a loss and lots of learning. It was fantastic to play clubs from outside the Midlands, thanks to all our opposition; North Staffs HC, Bowdon HC & Chester HC, the umpires, coaches and parents for their support.

A huge well done to more of our senior members who represented their country over the summer.

Alan Brannen lined up for the Scottish Thistles Men’s O55s, while Sandra Pattinson, also playing for Scotland, brought home a silver medal from the O60s World Cup after a tense final against the Netherlands that went down to shuffles.

Massive congratulations to both of these club legends! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 💪👏

🏑 INDOOR HOCKEY IS GOING AHEAD! 🔥

Get ready for Telford Indoor Hockey this winter! 💙

We’re running a 4-week indoor hockey block for U16 & U18 boys and girls, with some U14s also welcome to train and compete.

📅 Training block: 23rd November – 14th December
👧 Girls: Mondays, 6–7pm
👦 Boys: Wednesdays, 7:30–8:30pm

🏆 And then it’s tournament time!

U16 Tournament: 28th December
U18 Tournament: 29th December

We’ll have 4 teams of 10 players:
🔵 U16 Boys
🔵 U16 Girls
🔵 U18 Boys
🔵 U18 Girls

⚠️ Please note: Indoor hockey is separate from your regular outdoor membership.

Here’s what’s happening throughout the day:

🏑 9:00am – 11:00am — 5-a-side Hockey
📣 11:15am – 11:30am — Committee Address
🏐 11:30am onwards — TONS of sports and games for everyone
🎪 12:00pm — St George’s Summer Festival begins!

There’ll be plenty to get involved with, including Spikeball, Cricket, Boule, Golf, Volleyball, Football, Swingball and much more!

☕ Cabin open 9:00am – 12:00pm for coffees and soft drinks.
🍻 Astro Arms open from 11:30am for refreshments.

Most importantly, it’s a chance to catch up with teammates, meet new members, bring along friends and family, and enjoy a brilliant day together as a club.

Last Saturday Telford entered two teams into the annual Wolverhampton and Tettenhall HC 🏑 Hockey Festival. Telford had a lot of fun and played a lot of hockey. Big shoutout especially to all the girls who played, all 5 ended up playing for both teams and had no breaks all day. Big thanks to Paige and everyone who helped organise and run the day. It was amazing and we’ll be there again next year! 🔵🔴

The FIH Hockey World Cup starts today, wishing David Goodfield and the England Hockey Men’s squad the best of luck as they kickstart their World Cup campaign at 6pm vs Pakistan tonight.
Another shoutout to T&WHC International Masterclass guest coach & Midlands legend Lily Walker who will be co-captaining England Hockey Women’s who play their first game on Sunday at 9am vs South Africa. Watch all the games live on Channel 4 Sport YouTube channel for free.
