Supporting small businesses doesn’t always require spending money—your presence and engagement online can make a real difference.
Every like, comment, and share helps boost visibility in ways that algorithms recognize. When you interact with a small business post, you’re essentially helping it reach new audiences who might never have discovered it otherwise. Taking a few extra seconds to leave a thoughtful comment or tag a friend can expand that reach even further.
Reviews and testimonials are another powerful tool. Sharing your experience—whether through a post, story, or quick review—builds trust and credibility. People are far more likely to try a new business when they see genuine recommendations from others.
Consistency matters too. Following a business, turning on notifications, and engaging regularly signals ongoing support. Even saving posts or watching stories contributes to their performance behind the scenes.
If you’re able, amplify their voice. Share their promotions, highlight their products, or simply talk about them in your own content. Word of mouth has always been valuable—social media just gives it a much bigger stage.
Small businesses thrive on community. And in the digital world, that community is built one interaction at a time.

I'm not fond of being in front of camera but for certain things, I like clients to be able to have a visual reference. It also comes in handy for saleable exercise programmes and social media.
So, for the last couple of days I've been looking into exercise animation libraries. There are some good animations however, most of them are very much of the gym based, linear exercises, like a bench press. These are great but it does miss dynamic mobility driven movement.
I'm still pondering on whether to fork £out-a-few-hundred for a package. It's also led me to look more a AI. Some interesting results with different models but there are limitations. You have to hae the correct prompt. A description I might give to a client, and they would understand, can have some very bizarre outcomes in AI.
Attached is an AI generated political picture for attention. If you get the reference, give me a thumbs up or comment. I'd also appreciate any comments on the actual subject of the post. Cheers 👍

I used to work in gyms. Throughout my health & fitness career, I've gone in and out of being in a gym and visiting people. The problem I found was... it turned into factory work. I didn't get into fitness for it to be a production line. Now I visit clients.
***
And that's what I see in many commercial gyms. Personal Trainers using the same workouts and the same plans with all of their clients. The same tropes about how you should look, with identical classes to get the same effect, with no real benefit to the end user apart from what the industry tells them they need. Kelly, 56 with two grandchildren and a knee injury, does not need to be doing AMRAP burpees followed by pushing the weight of a baby rhino on the leg-press while someone watches and counts, filming for clicks.
***
It seems everyone is a specialist in weight loss. However, it's not a speciality... it's what you learn in becoming a personal trainer. The true skill comes after, with constant learning and enrichment for both the coach and client. The Personal in PT should be just that. Although biology follows patterns, everyone is different.
***
It's what made me evolve into working with people that have pain or illness. People with solid goals and sticking points that aren't premeditated by 2 weeks in Faliraki but health, wellbeing and quality of life. There are symptoms and causes... you can't cure a symptom but you can treat a cause and that's what I do.
***
What has made you not use gyms or Personal Trainers? Why do you use the gym or PT?
I'd love to know what people think. Let me know below 👇
