๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ PROPEL CC HILL CLIMB! โ›ฐ๏ธ

What a fantastic afternoon for Round 2 of the SCCA Hill Climb series. 16 riders took on the challenge in Coalport (Ironbridge) and judging by the smiles, suffering, and sense of camaraderie between riders it was a fun event.

Thanks to all the riders and clubs from across Shropshire that took part (including our very own Tim Mayo ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ

Also, a massive thank you to all of our amazing helpers who gave up their afternoon to marshal, organise, encourage and generally make sure everything ran smoothly ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŽ‰ 50+ ACTIVE MEMBERS โ€” AND STILL PEDALLING! ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ
Itโ€™s hard to believe that what started with a small group of hardy cyclists gathering at the back of a cafรฉ in 2018, dreaming about one day having a proper cycling club, has now grown to 50+ active members! ๐Ÿ’™

Those early days were all about dreaming, planning, riding and slowly building something that we hoped would become a club made of many. Fast forward to today, and that little dream has become a fantastic community of riders, with rides happening on both Saturdays and Sundays, midweek rides during peak season, plenty of adventures, lots of laughs and, of course, the occasional well-earned coffee and cake stop! โ˜•๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ˜‚

Reaching 50+ active members is a fantastic milestone, and itโ€™s a real testament to our longstanding members who have been there from the early days and helped shape Propel into the club it is today.

A huge thank you to everyone who has ridden with us, supported the club, organised rides, welcomed new members and helped create the friendly, sociable spirit that makes Propel what it is. ๐Ÿ™Œ

From those first few dreamers in the back of a cafรฉ to 51 strong and counting โ€” what a journey itโ€™s been!

Hereโ€™s to the original dreamers, the long-standing members, the new faces, our sponsors Bowring Park Cafe and Sign Shop Telford, and everyone who makes Propel CC such a fantastic club ๐Ÿ’™

Hereโ€™s a few pictures from those early days ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿšดโ˜€๏ธ Propel Cycling Club's First Family Ride โ€“ A Fantastic Foundation! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿšด

What a brilliant day for Propel Cycling Club's first-ever Family Ride! We set off from Telford Town Park and made our way down the Silkin Way, enjoying a relaxed ride before finishing at the Woodbridge Inn in Coalport. There, we met up with other club members and family members for a good social and some well-earned refreshments in the glorious sunshine.

While every rider deserves a mention, there were two young stars of the day who truly embodied the spirit of the ride. Theo (aged 4) who has only been riding a bike 3 months, completed the journey all the way to the Woodbridge, demonstrating biking ability well beyond his age. Even after a little tumble along the route, he dusted himself off, proudly sporting a special "leaf bandage", climbed back on his bike, and carried on. A true champion! ๐Ÿ†

Not to be outdone, his big brother Noah (aged 6) also took on the challenge and completed the ride with determination and a smile. Both boys were absolute heroes, and a wonderful example of what family cycling is all about. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿšฒ

A big thank you to everyone who joined us, and also to the massive crowd gathered in the Town Park to see us off... although rumour has it they may have been there for the Soap Box Wacky Races! ๐Ÿ˜„

This may have been our first family ride, but it was a fantastic foundation to build on. The smiles, support, encouragement and sense of community on display showed exactly what Propel is all about.

A special thank you to Ian for organising the event. Here's to even more families, hopefully more young riders, and an even bigger turnout next year! ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธโ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿป

Elsewhere across the club, our regular Saturday ride saw two groups of five riders out enjoying the local lanes, Alison added another medal to her growing collection in the beautiful Cotswold countryside, while Kev and Angela headed into Wales in search of more hills โ›ฐ๏ธ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ

It's great to see members enjoying all aspects of cycling, whether it's a family social ride, a club run, a sportive challenge, or a day spent conquering Welsh climbs. ๐Ÿ’ชโ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿšฒ

โ˜€๏ธ Propel Cycling Club Weekly Round-Up โ˜€๏ธ

It certainly feels like the holiday season is in full swing, with many of our members making the most of the fantastic weather and enjoying cycling adventures across the UK and Europe.

A big congratulations to Mark and Josh, who recently completed an epic coast-to-coast ride from Morecambe to Scarborough in just over 9 hours. An incredible achievement, especially in those warm temperatures! ๐Ÿฅต๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿšด

Itโ€™s also been great to see so many members out on our mid-week social rides. Our ladiesโ€™ group have clearly been making the most of the sunshine, with plenty of smiles, strawberries, scenic bridges, and, of course, a few miles along the way! ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŒ‰๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ

Further afield, members have been exploring the stunning roads and landscapes of Wales, Scotland, and Italy, sharing some truly fantastic photos from their adventures.

And, of course, closer to home, weโ€™ve continued our regular Saturday and Sunday club rides, enjoying the beautiful sunshine and some of the best roads that Shropshire has to offer.

Hereโ€™s a selection of photos showcasing just some of our membersโ€™ epic adventures this week. Thanks to everyone for sharing them, and we look forward to seeing where your bikes take you next! ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธโ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ“ธ
