It’s raining, but not on our parade! 🎉🎉

Our 2nd XI have achieved promotion in their first season in the !

An amazing achievement for the team, excited for a new challenge next season🏏

Unfortunately, the rain has had the final say today, with both of our league fixtures washed out🌧️

As it’s also the final league weekend, that brings the 2026 league season to a close for The Hull.

The washout confirms that our 2nd XI have secured promotion from Division 7 of the Somerset Cricket League in their debut season in the league! 🆙

HUUUUUUUGE 10 Wicket Win yesterday for our 2’s in their fight for promotion!

Wembdon won the toss and stuck themself in to bat posting just 127 in the 30th over. Paul Melville with yet another 4 wicket haul now on 25 wickets for the season with one game to go, aswell as Mark Hallas taking 3 wickets as he closes in on nearly 20 wickets for the season🤯

Hull chased the 128 target down in the 12th over thanks to opening partnership of skipper, Tom Sargent (73*), and Andy Gloyn (40*)💪

Incredible stuff from our 2s yesterday who now sit in second place jumping up from fourth! All eyes turn to next weekend now as we head to face Mass where a win would secure promotion to Division 6🙏

Our 1s make the hour-plus trip up to Winford to play Shaftesbury Road this afternoon.

Meanwhile, our 2s are home to Wembdon 5th’s in a must win game as we continue our pursuit of promotion! 💪

Unfortunately tomorrow’s First XI fixture at Home vs Wiveliscombe CC has been cancelled due to the opposition being unable to field a side. So with our Second XI having a bye in the league, there are no games for BHCC this weekend!😢

A disappointment coming into the final weeks of the 2026 season. However, we’ll be back next weekend with our 1s making the trip up to Winford to face Shaftesbury Road and our 2s returning home playing Wembdon 5s🏏
