Oscar and Harvey Coleman were key features in Somerset U18’s County One Day Cup success, beating Yorkshire at Kibworth CC on Monday.

Captaining the side, Oscar picked up figures of 8.2 overs 3-49 as Somerset dismissed Yorkshire for 223. Both Harvey and Oscar also taking a catch a piece.

In reply, Somerset knocked off the required 224 in 36.3 overs with 42 (38) for Oscar and Harvey 12 (30).

National champions, not a bad way to finish the season lads.

The weather couldn’t dampen this groups spirits, ending the season on a high with a curry and a night out, including being treated to a DJ set from our very own Damon Lee.

Despite a challenging season on the field, this group has grown off the field.

Roll on next season and bouncing back as a club.

With the 2nd XI game vs Huntspill & District CC being called off this afternoon due to weather, that confirms our relegation from the Somerset Cricket League Division 2.

Despite an ultimately significant points deduction, our 2s showed great character in taking their relegation battle to the final day.

Congratulations to Huntspill & District CC on staying up.

Another year, another season comes to a close.

Whilst we may also be battling the weather today, we have two fixtures scheduled.

Our 1s finish their WEPL campaign hosting Yeovil Cricket Club and our 2s travel to Huntspill & District CC needing to restrict Huntspill to as few points as possible in order to stay up.

Oscar and Harvey Coleman both played a part in Somerset U18s national cup semi final victory vs Middlesex at Taunton Vale CC on August 9th.

Captaining the side, Oscar scored a quick fire 19 (22) with younger brother Harvey scoring an even quicker 30 (22) as Somerset amassed 271/8 from their 50 overs.

In reply Middlesex could only score 143 all out with 1-21 from Oscar from 5 overs and Harvey taking two run outs.

Oscar, Harvey and Somerset will now face Yorkshire in the final at the end of the month.
