🏆⚽ SOUTH WEST SUCCESS AT THE GENEVA’S CUP! ⚽🏆

We are incredibly proud to celebrate our South West representatives who travelled to Geneva to take part in this year’s Geneva’s Cup! 🌍⚽

A huge congratulations to Amy Lee-Julian, who was awarded Best Defensive Player / Most Valuable Defender of the Tournament — an accolade voted for by the teams competing at the tournament! 🏆👏

Known for being cool, calm and collected, Amy put in a stellar performance throughout the competition. She may be naturally quiet and modest about her achievements, but once she gets out on court, she certainly lets her football do the talking! ⚽️🔥

Amy was a rock at the back, reading the game brilliantly, making crucial interventions and frustrating some of the best attacking players in Europe. Her composure under pressure, defensive awareness and ability to remain focused as the intensity increased made her a standout performer.

To receive an award voted for by the competing teams makes this achievement even more special and is fantastic recognition of Amy’s hard work, determination and quality as a player. 🌍🏆

We are also extremely proud of Olly Grafton and Noah Stevenson-Lea another of South West players who took part in the Geneva’s Cup and represented our region on the international stage. 👏⚽

And it wasn’t only our players representing the South West! A huge well done to our South West referees Ian and Megan, who also travelled to Geneva to officiate at the tournament. 🟨🟥⚽

It is fantastic to see South West Powerchair Football represented internationally by both players and officials, and we are very proud of every one of you.

Congratulations Amy, Olly, Noah, Ian and Megan! ❤️⚽🌍

And an extra special congratulations to Amy — Best Defensive Player of the Geneva’s Cup 2026! 🏆✨👏

🌟 League Sponsorship Opportunity 🌟

Could your business help change lives through sport? ⚽💙

The South West Powerchair Football League (SWPFL) is looking for new league sponsors to help secure the future of our regional league.

Powerchair Football provides opportunities for disabled players of all ages and abilities to enjoy competitive sport, develop confidence, improve wellbeing, and be part of an incredible football community.

We’re looking for businesses or organisations who would like to support the league. Sponsorship of around £500 would help cover one tournament venue, enabling players from across the South West to continue competing in a safe, inclusive environment.

In return, your business will receive:
⚽ Brand exposure across our social media and promotional material
⚽ Recognition at league events throughout the season
⚽ Association with one of the UK’s most inclusive and inspiring sports
⚽ The opportunity to make a genuine difference in your local community

Every sponsorship, large or small, helps us keep the league running and ensures our players can continue doing the sport they love.

If you, your employer, or a business you know may be interested, we’d love to hear from you.

📧 Contact: [email protected]

Please like, comment and share this post to help us reach potential sponsors. Together we can continue growing Powerchair Football across the South West. 💙⚽

Helen’s Memorial Cup 2026 💜⚽

Today we come together not only to play Powerchair Football, but to celebrate the life of an incredible lady who changed so many lives.

Welcome to the Helen’s Memorial Cup, where all players will be mixed into five teams:

💜 Helen’s Heroines
⚔️ Troy’s Warriors
🤠 Olly’s Outlaws
🛡️ Tommy’s Titans
🥷 Noah’s Ninjas

This tournament is held in loving memory of our dear friend, Helen Phelps-Starbuck.

Without Helen, Powerchair Football in the South West would not be where it is today. Helen was the driving force behind bringing opportunities to disabled players across our region. She began her Powerchair Football journey with Celtic Storm/Cornwall PFC before joining Aspire PFC, and later founded Ocean City PFC in Plymouth. Because of Helen’s vision, dedication and determination, players throughout the South West were given the opportunity to play competitive league football closer to home.

Helen was so much more than a player and founder. She was a friend, an inspiration, and someone who believed that everyone deserved the chance to play the sport they loved. Her kindness, encouragement and passion touched the lives of so many people, and her legacy continues every time we take to the court.

Many of our newer players never had the privilege of meeting Helen, but every tournament we play, every friendship we make, and every smile on the court is part of the legacy she helped create.

Today, we remember Helen with love, gratitude and pride. We hope everyone enjoys the day, plays with passion, shows great sportsmanship, and makes memories that Helen would have been proud of.

Helen, you will never be forgotten. Your spirit lives on in every player, every team and every match we play.

Forever in our hearts. 💜

Good luck to all five teams, and enjoy this very special day. ⚽✨
