🏆 **Who deserves to be recognised this season?**
As another fantastic season draws towards a close, it's time to start thinking about the **2026 BMMC North West Regional Awards**.
These awards are about recognising the people who make our sport possible. Perhaps you've seen a marshal go above and beyond, welcomed a new member, shown outstanding professionalism, or simply been someone who has made a real difference to those around them.
If someone has impressed you this year, don't assume someone else will nominate them. Take a few minutes to tell us why you think they deserve to be recognised.
Simply email **Paul Newns**, Regional Secretary, at **[email protected]** with:
🧡 The marshal's name
🧡 Why you're nominating them
🧡 Your name and BMMC membership number
Awards include:
🏆 Veterans' Award
🏆 Bellini Trophy – Marshal of the Year
🏁 Don Hall Trophy – Outstanding Flag Marshal
🌟 Cliff Hammond Award – Best Newcomer (under 2 years' membership)
🧡 Fred Byatt Award – A noteworthy act of marshalling
🚦 Ian Whitley Trophy – Outstanding Off-Track Marshal
Every marshal has a story. Help us make sure the people who have made a difference this season receive the recognition they deserve.

Oulton Park Gold Cup Sunday 🏆
A final reminder that there are car club parades from 10:00 to 11:30am on Sunday morning.
Please do not enter the circuit and park on the Start/Finish straight. 🏁
Please enter via East Gate and park on the outfield as per the marshal instructions for sign on at the 4x4 hut for Post Chief, flag and incident.
Specialists sign on at post as normal.
Sign on finishes at 11:15am on Sunday, and we will be given clearance to get to post once the parades have finished.
Please message John Edwards with any relevant questions

⚠️ Gold Cup Weekend – Travel Advisory for Marshals ⚠️
If you're travelling to Oulton Park for the Gold Cup this Bank Holiday weekend, please be aware that Creamfields Festival is taking place at the same time, with significant traffic management measures in place around the Daresbury area.
Marshals travelling via the M56, A56 or surrounding roads may experience delays, diversions and increased traffic, particularly during the morning arrival period and when leaving the circuit.
Our advice is to:
🚗 Allow plenty of extra travel time.
📱 Check your preferred navigation app before setting off.
🛣️ If possible, consider alternative routes to avoid the Daresbury/Creamfields area.
Information available at the time of posting suggests that approaching Oulton Park via M56 Junction 10 and the A49 may help avoid some of the busiest traffic management, although you should always follow live traffic information and any instructions from the police or highways authorities.
This is an advisory notice based on information published by Creamfields, Cheshire Police, Warrington Borough Council and National Highways. Traffic conditions may change throughout the weekend, so please check the latest travel information before you leave.
We look forward to seeing you all at Oulton Park. Have a safe journey and an enjoyable Gold Cup weekend! 🏁

Can you spare an hour to help recruit the next generation of marshals? 🧡🏁
The BMMC North West recruitment team will be at the Gold Cup throughout the weekend, meeting members of the public and introducing them to the world of motorsport marshalling.
We're looking for marshals who are already signed on and attending the Gold Cup to spend a short period of time on the recruitment stand. You'll still have plenty of time on post, but your experience and enthusiasm could be exactly what inspires someone to take their first steps into marshalling.
It's a great opportunity to:
🏁 Meet fellow marshals and motorsport enthusiasts.
🧡 Share your experiences and answer questions.
🏎️ Help grow our marshalling community for the future.
Please note: this request is for marshals who already have a Gold Cup allocation, as no additional marshal tickets are available for the event.
If you can spare some time over the weekend, we'd love to hear from you.
Please contact Dave at [email protected] to let him know you're available.
Together, we can help inspire the next generation of motorsport marshals.

When Steve was driving at Oulton Park he was the driver who ensured 'Goodie Bags' were given to each post. He was a pleasure to meet and marshal with.
Here he talks about his experience of being on post for a day.
