⚽💙 A QUICK REMINDER BEFORE THE SEASON BEGINS 💙⚽

With the new season just around the corner, we’re asking everyone connected with Gillway FC to take a couple of minutes to read through our Codes of Conduct attached to this post.

These cover the standards and behaviours we expect from everyone representing our club — players, parents/carers and our coaches & volunteers.

Grassroots football should be a positive, safe and enjoyable environment for our children to learn, develop, compete and, most importantly, enjoy playing football.

We all have a part to play in creating that environment.

There will be exciting moments, difficult games, decisions we disagree with, wins, losses and plenty of emotions along the way. Whatever happens, respect must always come first — for our teammates, opposition, coaches, volunteers, parents and match officials.

Please take the time to read the three Codes of Conduct and help us uphold the standards we want across Gillway FC throughout the season.

Our Star of the Week award is all about recognising the player who really stood out during their Academy session. 🌟

Whether it was their footballing ability, effort, improvement, putting something they’ve learned into practice or simply giving everything from start to finish — these players caught the eye of our coaches and earned their award! 🏆⚽

Choosing just one each session is never easy with so many children working hard and developing every week.

👏 Well done to all of our Stars of the Week pictured — thoroughly deserved!

🏆 SUPERSTAR AWARD
This award is about everything we strive towards at Gillway Academy. It recognises children who have shown excellence through their attitude, effort, improvement, teamwork, listening, helping others and being a positive example within the Academy.

⭐ STAR OF THE WEEK
Awarded to the player who has really stood out during that week’s session through their football, effort, performance and application on the pitch.

Congratulations to everyone pictured from the last two weeks! 🙌⚽

The trophies are great, but what matters most is what they represent — children working hard, developing, enjoying their football and showing the values we want to see throughout Gillway Academy. 💙

SOMEWHERE THIS MORNING…

A coach is unlocking the goals before everyone else arrives.

A parent is making breakfast for a child who’s already wearing half their kit.

Someone is searching the house for a missing shin pad.

A new player is wondering if they’ll fit in.

A goalkeeper is hoping today’s the day they make *that* save.

A child who struggled last season is getting another chance to fall in love with football again.

And on thousands of pitches across the country, friendships, confidence and memories are being built without anyone really noticing.

That’s grassroots football. 💚

It isn’t always perfect.

But these ordinary Sunday mornings?

**One day, they’ll be the ones we miss the most.**
