St Nicholas U15 Girls were invited to take part in the Nalgo Sports FC first ever 11 aside tournament, playing some of the most talented sides from the Bristol, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire leagues.

Our U15s were helped out by 5 of our U14 girls, and the girls came home plate winners! 🏆

What an AMAZING day of football! 🤩

The Nalgo Cobras U15 Girls have come away as Tournament Winners after a fantastic and closely fought day of football! 🏆🐍

The tournament was played as an 11-a-side format, acting as the perfect curtain raiser ahead of the new season kicking off next week.

We were joined by five other fantastic teams from the Bristol, Wiltshire & Oxfordshire leagues, with some hugely talented players on show throughout the day.

The Cobras topped their group to book a place in the Cup Final against a hugely talented Tyrone Mings Academy side.

What a spectacle!

There was absolutely nothing between the two teams. Both sides created chances, came close to finding the breakthrough and pushed right until the final whistle.

With the game deadlocked, we headed into GOLDEN GOAL…

And again, both teams went for it. The game became end-to-end as both sides searched for that one moment to win the cup final.

Then, in the dying moments…

💥 AOIFE made an ambitious run and set up the opportunity…

💥 NEILA stepped up and unleashed an absolute WORLDIE of a half-volley from a tight angle!

A brilliant finish to an incredible final and an amazing way to start the new season.

What a BIG day for NALGO Sports FC! 🟢⚫️

Today we hosted our very first tournament, proudly flying the flag for girls’ football and showcasing some fantastic young female talent from across the South West. 🙌⚽

We were treated to some amazing football throughout the day, with talented players representing some of the best grassroots clubs from the surrounding leagues.

Every game was closely contested, with plenty of skill, determination, great goals and fantastic team performances on show. 👏

Every single team should be incredibly proud of their players. ❤️

Most importantly, it was a really positive day for girls’ football, with brilliant support from all the teams, coaches, players, parents and supporters who came along and made the atmosphere so special.

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our first tournament such a success. Without the support of the teams and everyone behind them, days like this simply wouldn't happen.

What a great game! The Knights played brilliantly today, putting into practice so much of what they’ve been learning in training. 💪⚽️

The development in this group since the team was created back in May has been fantastic to see. Today was another really enjoyable game between two talented teams, with both sides scoring some excellent goals and showing some great football. 👏

Thanks Bassett always a pleasure to play you, top players and coaches 👏

⭐ PLAYER PERFORMANCES

🛡️ Bailey was his usual colossus at the back! He worked incredibly hard throughout and, as the game went on, started getting forward more and helping set up attacks. A brilliant all-round performance.

⚡ Elis continues to improve his game every week and showed some great progress today, making some great tackles. He also showed improvement in his shooting the shoot out

🧤 Kit was amazing in goal, pulling off some stunning saves during the game and then producing more heroics in the penalty shoot-out! 👏

🎯 Freddie pulled the strings in the middle of the park. Calm and assured on the ball, he controlled things really well and capped off his performance with a lovely goal late in the game.

A very well-deserved award for Archie, who scored his first goal for the Knights! ⚽️💚

He worked incredibly hard and caused havoc from the striker position all game. Brilliant effort, Archie! What a performance 👏

Ernie continues to get better every single week. Today he showed some excellent tackling and is starting to demonstrate some really good passing ability too.
