A massive congratulations to all three on their appointments.

They’ve been trusted with the responsibility of helping lead the Youth squad both on and off the field, setting the standards and representing everything we want Waunarlwydd RFC to stand for.

We’re looking forward to seeing Morgan, Aaron and Ashton lead the boys throughout what promises to be an exciting season ahead.

🏉 FIXTURE UPDATE | SATURDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER 🏉

Our First XV were due to open their league campaign at home against Nantyffyllon this Saturday.

However, following the recent extremely hard pitch conditions, both clubs felt that opportunities for contact training and proper match preparation have been limited. In light of the recent WRU ruling, Waunarlwydd and Nantyffyllon have mutually agreed to postpone the league fixture until a later date.

We will still be getting some much-needed game time this weekend, with the First XV travelling to South Gower RFC for a friendly. 💚🖤

Steph does a huge amount of work behind the scenes for our Junior Section, giving up her own time to help keep everything running smoothly. Like all of our volunteers, the time and effort she puts in plays a massive part in giving our young players the opportunity to enjoy their rugby. 💚

☀️ PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY CANCELLED 🏉

Unfortunately, this Saturday’s pre-season friendly against Llanharan RFC has been cancelled.

The prolonged dry and sunny weather has left the pitch extremely hard and, after assessing the conditions, we don’t believe it would be right to put players from either club at unnecessary risk of injury.

As much as we’d love to get some rugby played, player safety has to come first.

We’re sure we won’t say this very often in Waunarlwydd… but a bit of rain wouldn’t go amiss! 🌧️😂

Thanks to Llanharan for their understanding, and we look forward to getting back on the pitch soon. 🟢⚫️
