A massive three points on the road! 💪🏻⚫️⚪️

We started the game really well, controlling possession and constantly threatening the Skewen goal. We created numerous chances, with their keeper pulling off some big saves to keep them in the game.

The breakthrough eventually came through Ryan Rouse, who met a brilliant delivery from Cai Bowden with a lovely headed finish into the corner.

We continued to push and could easily have gone into the break more than one goal ahead.

The second half started in similar fashion and we doubled our lead through captain Anthony Morgan, who headed home from a Tom Lewis assist to make it 2–0.

That second goal seemed to wake Skewen up, and they pulled one back five minutes later. From there, we had to dig deep and defend for large periods, while still creating plenty of opportunities ourselves at the other end.

The final 20 minutes turned into a cracking game for the neutral, but the boys worked tirelessly to see it out and secure a thoroughly deserved 2–1 victory!

A huge shift from every single player and a massive result to get us back to winning ways! 🖤🤍

Giants Grave 3rds 2-3 Ynysmeudwy AFC Reserves

Massive 3 points on the road! 💪

A brilliant first-half performance from our reserves saw us race into a 3-0 lead against a strong Giants Grave Reserves side… with a few 3rds thrown in for good measure 👀

Grave made a few changes and started to put us under pressure, pulling one back just before the break to make it 3-1.

The second half was a completely different battle. Grave dominated a lot of the ball, but the boys dug in, defended superbly and worked tirelessly for each other. We still created chances on the break, but it was Grave who struck again in the 72nd minute to make it 3-2.

From there, it was all about character. The boys put their bodies on the line, defended brilliantly and saw the game out to take all 3 points away from Grave! A massive result for the reserves! 🔥

Man of the Match: Mitchell Butler

An absolute dog of a performance at the back from Mitch. Defended superbly, got stuck into everything and battled from the first whistle to the last. One of the biggest reasons we came away with the result we did.

Last week was supposed to be our final midweek fixture… but with the introduction of Giants Grave FC 3rds into Division 4, we’ve got one more under the lights!

The boys travel to Parc Newydd this evening, and we know it’s always a tough place to go.

Cwm Wanderers AFC 5-3 Ynysmeudwy AFC

A tough day at the office for the lads as we fell to a 5-3 defeat away to Cwm Wanderers AFC.

We created plenty of chances and had opportunities to win the game ourselves, but unfortunately failed to convert when it mattered. At the other end, some sloppy goals proved costly and ultimately gave us too much to do.

A brilliant performance from Tom, who worked tirelessly in the middle of the park from the first whistle. He was then pushed further forward into the number 10 role and made a real impact, getting himself two cracking goals.

A tough one to take, but we put it behind us and move on. Plenty to learn from as we look to bounce back next week with another away trip, this time to Skewen FC.

A big Saturday ahead for Ynysmeudwy as both sides hit the road looking for another three points! ⚪️⚫️🟡⚫

Our First Team travel to Cwm Wanderers AFC in the Neath League Premier Division. Both sides have made very similar starts to the league campaign, with two wins and one defeat apiece, while we have also picked up a draw. With both teams looking to build some momentum, it should be a competitive game with a massive three points up for grabs.

Our Reserves travel to Cimla Afc Reserves for what looks set to be a cracking Division 4 clash. Cimla have made a flying start, winning both of their opening games and scoring an incredible 24 goals without conceding.

But our Reserves head there full of confidence themselves after three wins from three, coming through some tough opposition along the way. The lads know it’ll be their biggest test yet, but they’ll be going there looking to take all three points home!

Ynysmeudwy AFC Reserves 5-1 Tonna AFC B

Another three points on the board for our Reserves as they ran out 5-1 winners against Tonna B at the Corbwll! 🔥

A brilliant night for 16-year-old Kayden Jones, who grabbed his first senior hat-trick for the club! Scott Rosser then came off the bench to add a brace and round off a very good team performance. 👏

The lads have made the perfect start to the season with two wins from two and will be looking to keep that momentum going tonight. 💪🏻

Ynysmeudwy AFC 1-3 Bryncoch FC

Our first defeat of the season comes against a strong Bryncoch side.

We knew going into the game that it was going to be a battle, and that’s exactly what it was — a very physical contest from start to finish.

We struggled at times to get the ball down and play the football we’ve shown in the opening games, but we still created chances and, on another day, we take them. Bryncoch took their opportunities well and ultimately that was the difference.

Paul Sypliwtchak got us back level in the first half, and we remained right in the game until Bryncoch finally put it to bed with their third in the 93rd minute.

Plenty for the lads to be proud of despite the result. We’ve shown again that we can compete at this level and go toe-to-toe with strong sides in the Premier Division.

Probably Kian’s best performance of the season so far. 👏🏻

He’s come on leaps and bounds since last season after putting in a really strong pre-season, and it showed again today.

Defended superbly throughout a very physical game, won his battles and whenever he had the opportunity, looked to drive us forward and get us up the pitch on the attack.

A brilliant performance from Kian and thoroughly deserved Man of the Match.
