MTFC Reds 6–5 Briton Ferry
Briton Ferry got off to the perfect start, scoring the opening goal. The Reds responded, but Ferry struck again to make it 2–1.
The Reds then began to take control, and the creative play and possession down the left side of the pitch was outstanding. The combination between Chrapek (24), Tesform (20), John (9), Hikmat, Jones (10), Usaiwevu (13) and Harrison (11) was exceptional. Their movement, passing, composure and ability to keep possession created some excellent football and caused constant problems for Ferry.
At the other end of the pitch, our defensive unit worked extremely hard to create a real brick wall in front of our goal. Osborne (4), Evans (23), Chrapek (24), James (6), Pelta (5) S.Jones (88) and Smith (7) battled tirelessly, putting in challenge after challenge and working together to protect the keeper Leach (99), who stood strong between the posts and gave the team confidence throughout the match.
The Reds scored twice to complete the turnaround and went into half-time 3–2 ahead.
The second half started with another twist, as Briton Ferry scored almost immediately after the whistle to level the game.
The Reds answered back to take the lead again, but Ferry responded with another goal to make it 3–4.
The Reds kept pushing and eventually found the equaliser. They then had a huge opportunity to take the lead when they were awarded a penalty taken by Jones (10), but Briton Ferry's goalkeeper produced an excellent save.
Ferry then found another goal to make it 4–5, but the Reds simply would not give up.
With the clock ticking, the Reds produced a moment of absolute class to bring the game back to 5–5. Guyatt (8) delivered a beautifully placed corner straight into the danger area, finding Harrison (11) who powered his header into the back of the net.
Then came the moment everyone will remember.
With just two minutes remaining, Harrison (11) received the ball on the right-hand side and somehow found the back of the net from an incredibly awkward angle which left spectators amazed that the ball had actually gone in.
The strike completed Captain Harrison's sixth goal of the match and his double hat-trick. ⚫️🔴⚽️🙌 🔴⚫️

MTFC Reds played against Bryncoch whoch were actually an U16s team but we weren’t aware of this beforehand.

However, what the boys showed afterwards was incredible. They displayed great ambition, courage and strength to step up and face another team older than them.

The boys created some beautiful football, especially in the second half, and there were moments where you could really see what they are capable of.

Even when we were losing by a big difference, their determination to keep going, keep fighting and never give up was truly inspiring to see.

The result may not have gone our way, but the character these boys showed was a massive win. ❤️

Proud of every single one of them. Keep believing, keep working and keep pushing forward. 💪⚽️
