Jude is a 15-year-old Sunderland lad who is bravely fighting a rare form of cancer. His family are facing the huge challenge of raising funds towards the costs of his treatment, and we want to do whatever we can to help.

๐Ÿ’™ If you can donate, every single contribution will make a difference.

There is also a fundraiser day at Grindon Young People's Centre in September, which we are proud to support. All funds raised will go towards helping with Judeโ€™s treatment costs.

You donโ€™t have to donate to make a difference. You can help by:

๐Ÿ™ Donating if you can
๐Ÿ“ฒ Sharing this post
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Spreading the word
๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Buying a few raffle tickets (from Grindon YPC)
๐Ÿ‘ฅ Encouraging friends and family to get involved

Every donation, share, raffle ticket and conversation helps bring Jude and his family one step closer to getting the treatment he needs.

Letโ€™s come together as a community and show Jude that he isnโ€™t fighting alone. ๐Ÿ’™

Celebrating 45 years of service and dedication to Pennywell Community Centre legend, Bill Leach. Bill has been a huge support and advocate of our club since we started in Pennywell in 1983, and his recognition is very well deserved and the hall is rightly being named after him. Thank you Bill ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

๐Ÿฅพ๐Ÿฐ Beat the Trails โ€“ Hadrian's Wall Trek for Marie Curie ๐Ÿ’›

Now that the dust has settled, the aches and pains have eased, and the blisters have almost healed ๐Ÿ˜‚, we've finally had chance to reflect on what was an incredible day.

Our adventure started early with a 5am departure, heading to the start line full of excitement and maybe a little apprehension. Arriving to a wet, soggy field with rain steadily falling, we genuinely thought the weather was going to make an already challenging trek even tougher.

Thankfully, as soon as we crossed the start line, the weather gods smiled on us. The rain stopped, the clouds stayed overhead, and we were treated to a cool, overcast day that proved perfect for walking.

The route itself certainly tested us. Steep hills, demanding climbs, tricky descents, constantly changing terrain, and a relentless 25mph headwind that seemed determined to slow us down for around six miles! There were moments when it would have been easy to let the conditions get the better of us, but we dug deep, kept putting one foot in front of the other, and pushed on together.

Along the way we were rewarded with some truly breathtaking scenery and fascinating pieces of history. From the impressive remains of the Roman fort to the poignant site of the famous Sycamore Gap tree. While it's still incredibly sad to see the loss of such an iconic landmark, seeing new shoots emerging from the stump was a powerful reminder that with strong roots, resilience and determination, it's hard to keep anything down for long.

After all the miles, climbs, wind and weary legs, we proudly crossed the finish line back in Haltwhistle in 6 hours and 35 minutes. A time we're incredibly proud of, but more importantly, we achieved what we set out to do โ€“ raise money for an amazing cause.

We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the support we've received. To everyone who donated, shared our posts, wished us luck, sent messages of encouragement or cheered us on from afar โ€“ thank you. Every donation, comment, share and message helped keep us moving when the going got tough.

Together, we've raised an incredible ยฃ950 for Marie Curie ๐Ÿ’›

This money will help Marie Curie continue their amazing work supporting people living with terminal illnesses and their families when they need it most.

One thing that really stood out along the route was the Sycamore Gap site. It felt fitting on a day that was all about perseverance, determination and pushing through challenges. Sometimes, even when you're knocked down, strong roots find a way to keep growing.

And of course, after 20+ miles of walking, there was only one way to celebrate... ๐Ÿบ A well-earned pint at the finish line, reflecting on a challenging, rewarding and unforgettable day.

Thank you from Steven, Anth and Andy to you all for being part of this journey. We genuinely couldn't have done it without your support.

โœ…ยฃ950 raised.
โœ…20+ miles completed.
โœ…Countless memories made.
โœ…Challenge conquered. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’›
