OPEN FOR ENTRIES MATCHPOINT #41 REDCAR OPEN

YOU might have noticed Matchpoint getting busy of late - indeed we’ve covered so much ground that our competitors have called for us to be drug-tested. And our heatmap across the North of England is more intense than Jude Bellingham’s at the World Cup.

Of course, we’ve also had our journeys across the Scottish border, and midway across the channel to Jersey of late. But the MP heatmap shows that one of our favourite spots to linger - a club about to host its THIRD Matchpoint monrad - is getting redder than most. Redder than a red-car, in fact.

The more sharp-witted of you (and I know how many sharp operators there are among the Matchpoint ranks) may have already guessed which club we’re taking about. Yes it’s Yarm.

Only kidding, it’s Redcar!

Saturday October 3 is the date for your diaries, as we clock up our seventh tried, tested and testing tournament on Teesside. Only Northern (4) have hosted more events than the Redcar Squash & Racketball Club, and we can’t wait to rekindle old friendships and rivalries on the Cleveland coast this autumn.

We will have the usual four courts in play throughout an action-packed day, and a maximum entry list of 60 across all the monrad grades. This October-fest of squash is perfectly timed for the new season, at a club which lives and breathes passion for the sport. Much as we do at Matchpoint.

MATCHPOINT #36 YORK SQUASH CLUB OPEN - TOP SEEDS

We have a great array of talent on show at York Squash Club this Saturday 8th Aug, with multiple top pros set to battle it out for a coverted MatchPoint title and their share of our £1,000 prize pool!

Word no.37 Sam Todd leads the line-up, and will be looking for a victory in his 1st MatchPoint appearance, while his closest competitors Patrick Rooney (WR #41) and Lwamba Chileshe (WR #134) both have their eyes set on title number 2!

The pros won't have it all their own way through, as the rest of the A event is packed with quality local talent aiming for a scalp of their own!

The A event starts at 1.05pm, and the A final will wrap up proceedings at approx 7.20pm. Check the MatchPoint app for the full draws and schedule, and get yourselves down to York Squash Club for some guaranteed world class squash!

☀️ 2026 SUMMER LEAGUES - JULY STANDINGS☀️

We're over halfway through the summer leagues, and the playoff spots are still up for grabs for a handful of teams.

Westoe top the division at the end of July by 2 points ahead of Tynemouth Vikings, who remain unbeaten with 1 game in hand, while Boldon and Eldon are level on 106 points and occupy the remaining top 4 spots.
