Sunderland Strollers Running Club

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐲 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐬! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

A busy one tonight with 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 taking place across the club! 💪

Our usual 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 club night had a bit of a twist, with runners from across all the packs coming together for a 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 down on the riverside. It was fantastic to see so many Strollers out together enjoying the evening, catching up, and sharing the miles.

Meanwhile, 𝐂 𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤 were down at the 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤 putting in some speedy laps, while a dedicated group headed to the hills and fields of Silksworth to start their 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, getting some valuable practice ahead of the upcoming XC season. 🌳

Whether it was a social run, speed work or hill training, there really was something for everyone tonight. Great to see so many Strollers out enjoying their running! 👏💙🤍

A few more races to highlight from another busy weekend for the Strollers! 👏

We had three teams flying the flag at the 𝐆𝐨𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬, more Strollers at the 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝟏𝟎 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐫, and a special shoutout to 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐲, who finished an impressive 3rd in his age category at the 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝟏𝟎𝐊! 🥉 (He must have been too fast for the photographer, so no race photo this time! 😄)

Huge well done to everyone who raced, volunteered, supported, or simply got out and enjoyed their running this weekend. 💙🤍

An absolutely huge well done to all of our Strollers who took on the 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟓𝟎! 💪

𝐅𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐲 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬 through the breathtaking Lake District is no small feat. With challenging climbs, rugged trails, changing conditions, and countless hours on their feet, this is an event that demands determination, resilience, and plenty of grit.

Every start line crossed is an incredible achievement, and we’re so proud of everyone who represented the club on one of the UK’s most iconic ultra races. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 to you all on an amazing accomplishment – enjoy a well-earned rest... you’ve certainly earned it! 👏🏅

A huge good luck to our incredible Strollers (and Stroller friends) who have just set off on their epic 𝟏𝟎𝟓-𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 in The Montane Lakeland 50 & 100 ! 💪

This iconic ultra is one of the toughest around, with endless climbs, technical trails, and countless hours on their feet through the Lake District. It’s a true test of endurance, determination, and mental strength.

We know you’ll all do the club proud, and we’ll be following your progress every step of the way. 🙌

A great turnout from the Strollers at tonight’s 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝟓𝐊, with runners of all abilities taking on the fast, flat course.

The route was perfect for quick times, but the 𝐡𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐝 conditions certainly had other ideas, making it a tough evening for racing! 🌡️💦

A huge well done to everyone who braved the heat, dug deep, and gave it their all. Another fantastic local event, and as always, a big thank you to Sunderland Harriers & Ac for hosting such a well-organised race. 👏

Make sure to keep an eye out for these Super Strollers who are volunteering at the halfway water station at the Great North 10k today💧💪

The ever-popular Blaydon Races once again proved to be a firm favourite on the racing calendar, with a fantastic turnout from the Strollers taking on the iconic 5.9-mile route.
From the famous start in Newcastle to the finish in Blaydon, the atmosphere was as brilliant as ever, with plenty of support lining the course and runners enjoying this unique North East tradition.

A huge well done to all our Strollers who took part, and a special thank you to Blaydon Race for putting on another superbly organised event. 👏
