A beaut' of a route today! No gnar but 1400m of climbing squeezed into 38km. Canny snack stop too

Without doubt one of my absolute favourite places. Yes, the plaza major is a tourist trap but the new town has enough of a local vibe going on that you can eat and drink very well. Just look at it man! Miles of empty, well-marked enduro trails, many straight from of the centre of town. Great level of challenge - without the plastic macho 'look at me' vibe of (some parts) of the Alps.

50km rescued in the last 10. Endless double track followed by 10km of limestone rockgarden...just well the descent was 👌.

Europe's largest area of beech forest with miles of trails through the karst let us blow away the metaphorical dust of the drive. Quality.

Who knew finding decent flat bar / flat caliper brakes would be so difficult? 's turned into the adventure bike she wanted. Gone are the never-used drops, a new NX wide-range groupset fitted, new brakes and hubs serviced. With the 50mm tyres back on there's no excuses on those fully-loaded climbs (and descents) now!
