The last event of the "2 legger" series and a chance for everyone to race the same paths as the World Championships held in the same place.

Reward yourself afterward with the delights of the North East Coastal cafés, with plenty to choose from. Or maybe do some dolphin spotting 🐬

🔹 Aquathlon – a sheltered 750m swim between the piers, followed by a scenic 5km run along the Roker–Seaburn headland and back

🔹 Swim Only (750m) – perfect for building confidence in open water

🔹 Swim Only (1500m) – for those ready to go the extra distance
With calm, sheltered water and a stunning coastal route, this is the ideal event to try something new or push your personal best. 💪
Come join the Sun City Tri family on the 20th — we can't wait to see you there! 🙌

Northerntrier - 2026 2 Legger 24/08/2026

Super exciting stuff in the 2 legger....
Marc Best of Vector Racing goes top as he took another Aquabike win at Bishopton, squeezing Kris Whitelaw into 2nd and Scott Walton stays 3rd for Tyne Triathlon Club

Lindsay Quinn strengthened her position by taking the female Aquathlon win.
Nia Almond is in 2nd and could still take the series win if she came mid-table at Sun City Triathlon Aquathlon. Emma Westmancott sits in 3rd and would need near to a win at Sun City to go top.

Superb event today at Bishopton with U Prevail Events - beautiful spot.
The morning air was fresh pre 7am but the shallow water remained wetsuit optional. With Matt Turnbull playing Gen X tunes that saw Liz fall over during a Dave Lee Roth high kick 😆, all was relaxed and beginner friendly.
Jack Smith stunned everyone on the bike to take the standard win.
Hanna Yates did much the same in the females.

Becky Coleman won the sprint females, fastest across all the splits.

The controversial issue was winner of the open sprint, at no fault of the organisers.
Mathew Downs was first over the line but found himself 2nd as Mika Brown had started in the "slower" swim wave, but swam the fastest split of the day.

How do people feel about it, could Mathew have taken it if knew he was chasing? Or is it fair play?

A fantastic win for Millie Breese in the Bundesliga! As these elites tend to go, she was front pack swim and bike, fine margins leave no room for a mistake and Millie was super quick out of T2. Nothing technical about split 3, she just opened up and ran faster than the rest!
Class!
