Mark Saunders sweeps up the lot to win the 2nd Geoff Harrop Memorial Trophy

He beat Steve Clarence in a close final with a few wicked flukes at vital times to win the Iron Trophy and get his name up on the club Roll of Honor board

Not only that, he also landed the high break prize 💵 of 67

Thank you to all the members who came out in support of the great man that was Geoff Harrop and all his kindness he gave the club over the years, Geoff must of been looking down on Mark in the final!

New season club tournament will be planned from late September onwards with details & dates to follow

Ben Waine wins another club title for the year and gets his name up on the Winners Board

He beat Tony Ip 3-1 in a close final. The first 3 frames were on the final black!

Eric beat Alex Buchanan 3-0 in the final helped by his tremendous safety game not allowing Alex to score.

Stratford SC Club Snooker Championship Final

Huge congratulations to Ben Waine (red shirt) who beat Joe Cockerton 4-2 in the Club Championship final on the weekend.

The final was a very closely contested final with all but one frame finishing on the final few balls.

The first frame both players we’re understandably very nervous but Joe in complete control on the frame untill a fight back from Ben stole the frame to lead 1-0.

Ben settled down and surged ahead 3-0 with a fantastic break of 63 only for Joe to clear the colours up in the 4th frame to avoid the whitewash to make it 3-1.

After the break, with the tension building again for both players, the crowd fell deathly silent watching both players battling it out shot for shot.

However, Ben was not to be denied and held his nerve to claim the win 4-2 and be crowned Snooker Club Champion for 2022/23 and with that his name on the clubs champions board.

Everyone is welcome to come along and support the players play in the club championship singles final for tomorrow night at 7pm
