The Wheelchair Pickleball League Continues
A great day of competition, socialising and fun was had by those who attended the now regular Bi-Monthly Wheelchair League at the University of Cumbria Sports Hall, in Carlisle last weekend.
Sadly, several participants had to withdraw at short notice due to injuries or other health issues. Our referee for the day David Gault who travelled over from Northern Ireland to be with us was even drafted in to play in a wheelchair. Having hardly played in chair before he did well but he’ll need to work on your wheelchair skills as some players took advantage (mentioning no names but we know who we are 😉)
Separated into 2 groups, base on skill levels, players competed against and with each other in a round robin. The top 2 players and bottom 2 from each group joined each other in a A and B finals which again were round robins.
Well done to all the players for the sportsmanship, friendship and community spirit.
Looking forward to seeing you all again and hopefully more at the next even on 12th July.
