I’ve had to hit a proper reset lately, my health forced me to slow right down.

When your body says “enough”, you have to listen, even when life feels busy and you’re used to pushing through.
This pause has reminded me that growth doesn’t only happen when we’re smashing goals or juggling a million things.
Sometimes it happens quietly in the healing, the resting, the choosing yourself, the asserting your boundaries even when it feels uncomfortable.
I’m learning to breathe again, slow down without guilt when my body asks.

If you’re in a similar place, please hear this: stepping back, slowing down isn’t weakness.
It’s wisdom.
Your body matters.
Your wellbeing matters.
And you’re still growing, even here, even now, even slowly.
We’re allowed to reset.
We’re allowed to begin again.
And we’re still blooming through it. 💐🌸🌻

Black Breastfeeding Week — why it matters to me.

Black Breastfeeding Week is here, and I just want to share why it’s important.

Black mothers and babies still face big gaps in breastfeeding support and health outcomes, because the system hasn’t always had us in mind.
I have witnessed this with first hand experience. 🥹

As a mixed brown mom, representation has always meant a lot to me. One of my biggest supporters when I was breastfeeding my first son was another brown mom who was a breastfeeding consultant.
She was amazing and I will never forget the support she gave me. She understood me, she reassured me, and she gave me the confidence to keep going.
That experience showed me how powerful it is when you’re supported by someone who truly gets you.

A few reasons this week exists:

Representation matters — Black and brown moms are rarely shown in breastfeeding campaigns or leadership.

Cultural barriers — Less diversity in support leads to myths and misinformation.

Generational fears — Many Black and brown moms worry about milk supply because these beliefs get passed get passed down.

Historical trauma — The legacy of forced wet‑nursing still affects how safe breastfeeding feels today.

This year’s theme is “We All We Got.” 15 years of community, care and collective power.
And honestly, that’s exactly it — community, care, and showing up for each other.

Next year marks 10 years of volunteering for Moms Mindful Hub.

What began with just me and E has grown into a beautiful, supportive community of moms and families.

Looking back at where we started, then fast‑forwarding to where we are now, reminds me how powerful community can be.
I’m so grateful for every mom who has walked through the doors and into our spaces, shared a moment, supported another mom, or simply showed up.

Our community is wonderful, and I’m proud of what we’ve built together.

Lot's of love
Leonie 💜
