Forest Falcons 3-3 West Brom All Stars
Goals - Oshay 2, Jackson
Here is what the boss had to say…
“Fantastic character shown today to come away from the game with a draw.
Should have had more too, conceded some really sloppy goals (as we always do 🥴) and missed a fair few chances.
But all that aside, outstanding performance against a team that’s won the lot last season, won every game in their league and the cup.
I could go through the whole side today and say how great they all were, every single one of them put in a shift and worked their socks off. Losing Dan and Noah early on to injuries made it all the more impressive having to play 70 odd minutes with no subs and a few lads carrying knocks too who couldn’t be replaced.
Hopefully Dan and Noah are ok and both are nothing serious.
Special mention to Tyler, who we’ve thrown in the deep end today in a position that he’s never played before, and put in a colossal, mature performance and looked like he’d played there his whole life.
Credit to the boys in that heat down to the bare bones, tough old morning but an enjoyable one at that with a cracking first Sunday result of pre season to go with it.”

Forest Falcons 1-1 Redditch United
Goals - Jackson
Here is what the boss had to say…
“Overall, we were happy with the performance today. There are areas we can improve on - and we will - but there were plenty of positives to take. We started slowly and conceded a really poor goal from our perspective, with two or three chances to clear the ball that we didn’t take.
What pleased me was the reaction. We responded well to going behind and created a number of opportunities, but we just weren’t ruthless enough in the opposition box. We didn’t give up though, and we got our reward. Well done to Jackson for putting the penalty away so calmly.
In the second half, I thought we were better and really should have taken one of the many chances we created, but it wasn’t meant to be. Overall, it was another good run-out and we remain unbeaten in pre‑season.
Well done to all the lads, it was extremely warm out there today. See most of you tomorrow and the rest on Wednesday.”

Forest Falcons 4-2 Wednesfield Community
Goals - Oshay 3, Mo
Here is what the boss had to say…
Some start to pre‑season that was. With so many lads away, I told the group beforehand that today was a chance for those here to get one step ahead and stake an early claim for a place in the team, and they absolutely did that. The first half was genuinely faultless; every single one of them was outstanding. We fully deserved to go in 2–0 up, with two brilliantly taken goals from Oshay.
In true Falcons fashion, we didn’t begin the second half quite as sharply, and were a bit unlucky to find ourselves level ten minutes in. But credit to the lads, they dug in, showed real character, and dominated the final half hour. Congratulations to Oshay on completing his hat‑trick and to Mo for his goal.
We’ve set the standard now, and we shouldn’t drop below it. The shape, work rate, willingness to play football, running, and desire were all at a level you’d expect from grown men who’ve played the game for years. I always try to keep my feet, and the lads’ feet, on the ground, but against a very good side we showed there’s a lot to be excited about this season.

Massive congratulations to our very own Captain Jackson, who has signed for Avery U18s at the remarkable age of 15. Creating a pathway for our lads to play at the highest level is at the heart of what we do as a club, and Jackson is a brilliant example of that vision in action.
Thank you to everyone who has supported him, especially his coaches over the last four years - Dave Powell, Danny Attwood, Carl Boucher and Matt Robbins.

Parents and lads were down at Somers last night to watch England’s first World Cup match. The boys finished training at 8.30 and headed straight into the bar, where we had tables reserved in our name along with complimentary cheese and biscuits. On top of that, everyone enjoyed a free pint courtesy of Somers when England opened the scoring.
A fantastic evening all round. Thank you to the whole team at Somers Sports and Social Club for your 5‑star hospitality. See you Tuesday! 😍

Fantastic day today at the club’s presentation day, with huge congratulations to all the winners across every age group.
A special well‑done to two of our lads: Ollie A, who won SDYFL Players’ Player of the Year, and Nash, who picked up MJPL Players’ Player of the Year. Outstanding achievements from both.
It was also great for the team to receive recognition for all the work put in down at Somers, being awarded ClubMan of the Year. Although the trophy was handed to coaches Dave and Matt, it’s an award that belongs just as much to the parents. Getting the pitch up to standard all season has been a proper joint effort.
Here’s to 26/27 - a season where we aim to grow again and go even bigger.
