Our upcoming Strongevity Coffee Club Walk dates are here ☕🌳

These are relaxed, friendly walks for our members and their friends, family, dogs, and anyone who fancies getting outside, having a chat, and finishing with a coffee afterwards (if there’s somewhere to grab one from).

No need to book.

Just turn up for a 9:00am start.

And please, for everyone’s sake, do not zoom in too closely on the people behind Lewis…

AI has done some of them absolutely dirty 😂

We’d love to see you at one of the upcoming walks.

Most people over 50 do not struggle to get fitter because they are lazy.

They struggle because they wait for the perfect time, stop before their body has adapted, avoid challenging themselves enough, change the plan too often, or underestimate what they are still capable of.

And that last one is a big one.

Your body is not done just because you are over 50.

But it does need the right stimulus, the right support, and enough consistency to actually change.

You do not need to train perfectly.

You need to start, stick with it long enough, and stop telling yourself it is too late.

If you want help getting fitter, stronger and healthier over 50, join our priority list or drop us a message for more information.

I was recently interviewed about why strength training matters so much for people over 50.

And honestly, this is a message we will keep repeating.

Strength training is not just about building muscle.

It is about protecting your bone density, improving balance and coordination, staying capable, and giving yourself the best possible chance of living a long, healthy, independent life.

If you want the chance to be part of Strongevity, join our priority list or drop us a message for more information.

In just 6 weeks, Lynsey has noticed a real difference in her strength, balance, energy and confidence 💪🏼

But the biggest wins are the everyday ones. Lifting shopping, opening bottles and picking up her grandchildren with more ease.

If you’re over 50 and want to feel stronger in everyday life, join the Strongevity priority list via the link in our bio

If you’re over 50 and you’re not strength training, you’re not standing still.

Your strength, muscle, balance and bone density all become more important with every year that goes by.

That is why Strongevity exists.

To help people over 50 start strength training in a way that feels coached, supportive and built around them, so they can stay strong, capable, independent and confident for as long as possible.

If that sounds like the kind of support you need, join our priority list so you’re ready for the next intake.

What is the biggest thing you want to stay strong enough to do as you get older?

Core training after 50 should be about more than just “feeling your abs burn”.

The suitcase march is one of our favourite core exercises because it trains your body to stay strong, tall and controlled while you move.

That matters in real life.

✔️ Carrying shopping.
✔️ Walking with bags.
✔️ Staying steady on your feet.
✔️ Keeping your posture strong.
✔️ Not letting your body get pulled out of position.

You can use a kettlebell, or if you haven’t got one, load up a bag with some tins or anything you have at home.

Simple, useful, and much more relevant to everyday life than endless crunches.

Save this one and give it a try.

Being strong is not much use if you cannot control it.

Strength matters, but it is only one part of the puzzle.

If you want your body to feel useful in the real world, you also need balance, coordination and control.

Because everyday life does not happen in perfect gym conditions.

• You might trip.
• You might need to catch yourself.
• You might be carrying something awkward.
• You might have to move quickly without thinking.

That is why we include exercises like this at Strongevity.

Not just to help people get stronger, but to help them use that strength when it actually matters.

We had a question come through with a few different parts, but the main point is this:

Strength training is not one size fits all.

How quickly you progress, when to increase weight, and whether an exercise is right for you depends on your body, your history, your injuries and your starting point.

That is why proper coaching matters.

But one thing we can clear up quickly…

You cannot target fat loss from one specific area.

Crunches will not directly remove stomach fat or “love handles”.

Fat loss happens across the whole body, so instead of chasing exercises for one area, focus on what actually works:

Strength training, more movement, better nutrition and consistency over time.

Why do we use barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells and resistance bands instead of mostly machines?

Because free weights tend to give you more useful strength for real life.

There’s nothing wrong with machines, but they’re very specific. They often don’t challenge your balance, coordination and core stabilising muscles in the same way.

Someone might be able to leg press a lot of weight, but still struggle to squat confidently.

And most people over 50 aren’t training because they care about gym numbers.

They’re training to get off the floor, carry the shopping, play with their grandchildren and stay capable as they get older.

So if you only have limited time to train, choose the exercises that carry over best to real life.
