βΌοΈIMPORTANTβΌοΈ
Most folk love dogs π but not on the greens of a golf course π
(for any who donβt play golf - thatβs the lovely flat area with the flag and hole β³οΈ π³οΈ ).
Over the last few days weβve had issues with dog paw scrape marks across the greens on the course in Stornoway, which causes damage to the area on our beautiful course.
If you are walking your dogs on the course, please do not let them run across the green π
Many thanks β³οΈπ

Nearly a cracking night apart from the midges as can be seen by some trying to hide from the wee darlings π€―π΅βπ«π€¦π»ββοΈ
Not many photos but a great turn out - the younger ones did some putting practice before playing the course, the under 12βs managed to get some sixes scores for our online league with the Isle of Skye golf club.
The over 12βs got in some practice for the nines to be played on Friday afternoon.
I didnβt even notice the 2nd rabbit hiding while photographing the black one π°π

RNLI CHARITY STABLEFORD
Another fantastic turnout for a great charity π₯° ππ»β³οΈ
The weather was better than expected for parts of the day, the warmth must have encouraged the dozens of beautiful butterflies out in the bushes beside the ladies tee on the heather π³, after checking with Liz, the bushes are called Budleia aka Butterfly bush, they were certainly living up to the name π¦ π¦ π€©π€·π»ββοΈ
Apologies to DJ, who shot an amazing round of 63, which included 8 birdies π³π€© ππ» and 41 Stableford points only to be beaten by me with the same points π
π€¦π»ββοΈπ. Not that it will make DJ feel any better but I was delighted to finally break 80 in Stornoway for the first time π₯³
Iβve probably peaked too soon but Iβm sure DJ will continue his high standard of golf as we both head to Newmachar next week to play in our Scottish finals π β³οΈ
It was a day of high scores with Robbie Ross and Iain McFee both also managing 40 points ππ»
In the Junior competition continuing the high scoring and another closely fought competition between the twins with Paige winning by 1 point on 39 points, her birdie on the 10th making the difference β³οΈππ»
While speaking of Juniors, it was brilliant on Friday to see 8 of the older Juniors out on the course in the afternoon playing in the nines format, an online competition they compete against The Isle of Skye golf club over 9 holes, just after they had started another 8 Juniors from the Nicolson turned up to play, so we had 16 playing out on the course at the same time, something which Iβve never seen at the club and very encouraging for the development and future of the club π€©π₯³β³οΈπ

π We're excited to welcome Captain Pushp Vaid to Stornoway Golf Club on 12th Sept, where he will cook a 3-course Indian buffet.
π He is a retired helicopter pilot based in Aberdeenshire who, after serving in the Indian Army, spent many years working in the North Sea oil industry.
π In Nov 1986, there was a tragic helicopter crash off the coast of Shetland where a Chinook suffered a mechanical failure and plunged into the sea. Sadly, only two of the 47 people on board survived: Captain Pushp was one of them.
β³οΈ Pushp is now aged 85, and spends his time playing golf, cooking, and doing yoga. He frequently helps raise money for charity by cooking for large groups. We've picked RNLI Stornoway as the charity for this Curry Night βοΈπ
π£ For a chance to hear his extraordinary story and enjoy some Indian food, get your table bookings in by email to:
