Second defeat in a row.

Glendale 5-2 Stonehaven Athletic

We started well and went ahead around 20 mins in when a C. Gauld long throw went over the defender to D. Knowles who cut inside well to then find the bottom corner. For some reason this made us stop playing any football at all and the home side scored two before the break.

HT 2-1

Second half didn’t get any better and was a hard watch. Glendale scored a further two though we did get one back with 10 minutes to go through M. Askildsen scoring his first goal for the club. We conceded again with 5 minutes to go after throwing numbers up the park to try salvage something from the game.

FT 5-2

Probably one our poorest performances for a few years. Thankfully with the midweek game done we can work on things at training this week.

MOTM - Nobody

Today we face Glendale at Corbie Park as we look to bounce back after the defeat midweek.

First defeat of the season.

Stonehaven Athletic 0-2 Beacon Rangers

First half was an even affair with both teams having plenty chances. On the stroke of half time the Beacon striker curled one into the top corner from just inside the box.

HT 0-1

Five minutes into the second half we conceded again this time a through ball to the speedy striker and he rounded C. Hunter to knock the ball into the net.

This knocked us a bit and we just didn’t get going. Forcing it far to much with Beacon holding firm through to the final whistle.

FT 0-2

A disappointing second half performance and we will look to learn from this in our next game on Saturday.

MOTM - D. Knowles

Back in league action tonight as we face Beacon in the last of our midweek fixtures.

We’ll be looking to carry on our good start to the season and hopefully pick up another positive result! 🔴🔵

Bervie Caley 1-2 Stonehaven Athletic

The second game in a row we had an 18 man squad for the short trip down the coast.

First half was pretty even, we possibly edged it & both teams had a really good chance each near the end of the half but it remained goalless.

HT 0-0

We went up one to the good when it was deemed D. Knowles was brought down in the box, the striker made no mistake from 12 yards out. (Video in comments)

Bervie drew back when a free kick out wide was headed home by a midfielder.

With around 10 minutes to go we got back into the lead when some great play in the midfield, R. McNally then playing a sublime through ball to D. Knowles who grabbed his second of the game.

We held firm for the remainder to get our first 3 points of the season.

FT 1-2

A really good performance against a tricky team so all the lads deserve credit. Another derby awaits on Saturday as we host AC Mill Inn Academy.
