quiet practices, that may even be stronger dynamic asana practices, invite stillness. and stillness can bring discomfort. whether that’s physical, emotional or both can change moment to moment; it can change every time we step on our mat. many of us live such fast, busy lives, that slowing down and finding presence, can be one of the biggest challenges we face; quiet can be something we run away f

rom, it can stir things up we’ve not wanted to notice. finding comfort in discomfort, not only helps us grow, it helps us meet ourselves with no filter. that journey can be a long, and sometimes, bumpy road - but that’s ok - we’re here to hold space and do this together. the word yoga comes from the root word yuj, which means to yoke, to join or to unite, and in a spiritual sense, refers to the joining of the individual consciousness with the universal consciousness. many now interpret that yoga means to unite the mind, body and soul, and so on the surface, the practice is personal, and although we follow the same path, each person’s journey is ultimately unique. but one of the many incredible things about yoga is that, something so personal can unite so many people. even if we practice by ourselves, a sense of connection to a wider community - united by a shared love of yoga, is often bubbling away under the surface. the power of this connection is almost palpable in a group class, when your breath and movement is synchronised harmoniously with others around you. just like yoga, community is about connection and unity. merge them and their power is amplified, allowing us to feel safe and supported in our journey. in a world where virtual communication has become the norm, authentic connection is more vital than ever. our community is filled with likeminded, compassionate souls; you’ll meet new friends, make meaningful connections and find a real sense of belonging. join us at unfurling space, and we’ll unfurl together. ✨

hands-on assists.

you might have received one in class before.
you might be curious about them.
or perhaps you’ve wondered what they’re actually for.

over the next few weeks, we’re going to explore hands-on assists at unfurling space — what they are, why our teachers use them, and what you might notice when you receive one.

because a hands-on assist isn’t about pushing you further or “fixing” your practice.

sometimes it’s simply a way of offering another point of awareness.

a gentle cue through touch.
a little more information for the body.
a moment to notice something you might not have felt on your own.

and, always, consent comes first.

your practice is yours.
you can opt in, opt out, or change your mind at any time.

let’s explore together 🤍

there’s something really special about those early months of parenthood.

so much change.
so much learning.
so much love.
and, sometimes, a feeling that you’re figuring it all out as you go.

our postnatal yoga + baby massage course is a little space to pause amongst all of that.

part baby massage, part postnatal yoga, and part community.

for your little one, we’ll explore gentle baby massage to encourage connection, relaxation and support their developing body.

and for you, we’ll move through adapted postnatal yoga to gently rebuild strength, support the core and pelvic floor, release areas of tension and give you some much-needed time to simply be.

but we’ve chosen to run this as a course rather than a standalone weekly class for a reason.

we want you to have the opportunity to come back to the same space each week. to build a sustained practice as your body continues to recover and strengthen. to watch your little ones grow alongside each other. and to form those little connections with other local parents that can mean so much during this season of life.

dads and carers are very welcome too, with the yoga adapted accordingly.

you can join us part-way through the course if there is availability, but when you join, you’ll book through to the end of the course so we can keep that continuity and sense of community.

🤍 please make sure you have had your 6-week check and have been given the go-ahead before attending.

this is the fourth in our Finding Your Practice series, exploring the different styles of yoga we offer at unfurling space ✨

because yoga isn’t one thing

different practices meet us in different ways, and what we need can change from day to day, season to season

this time: flow to restore

a practice that brings together movement and stillness

we begin with a nourishing, strengthening flow — creating warmth, building energy and connecting with the body

then, gradually, the pace softens

movement gives way to restorative postures, allowing the body to settle and everything to soften

because sometimes restoration isn’t about doing less

sometimes we need to move first

and sometimes strength is part of restoration too

a practice that reminds us there’s space for both

movement
and stillness ✨

what kind of practice does your body ask for lately?

01/08/2026

the solution is usually more yoga 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷‍♂️

✨ unfurl to harmony ✨

sometimes the most healing thing we can do is simply pause.

to lie down.
to soften.
to let ourselves be held for a while.

join lauren of Lumora for an immersive sound journey designed to calm the nervous system, quiet the mind, and invite deep rest.

as the gentle resonance of crystal singing bowls, chimes, and healing instruments fills the space, you’ll be guided into a state of relaxation where you can simply receive. no doing. no striving. just space to breathe, unwind, and reconnect with yourself.

whether you’re new to sound baths or returning to the practice, this is an invitation to step away from the busyness of everyday life and into stillness.

leave feeling calmer, lighter, and deeply restored.
