Thank you to our awesome volunteers who have stepped forward this week. You've made filling the rota for a Bank Holiday weekend incredibly easy!

We're good to go, subject to our pre-event course check. Hopefully the rain will stay away and we can all have a great start to the long weekend!

Well done to everyone who took part in our parkrun on Saturday 22nd August.
As introduced by one of today's Co-Run Directors, Calum, during the Run Brief, folk were encouraged to come along in tutus. It was nice to see those that joined in - especially those who who were visiting from Alsager Runners.

Saturday saw 268 runners, joggers and walkers taking part - supported by 30 fab, friendly volunteers, including Alex Lord, John McCluckie and Leo Jolleys who all did their first ever volunteering stints - thank you all! 🦺

We also introduced 7 brand new First timers to parkrun. 🎉

Today we had 60 log times at our event for the first time.

There was visitors from Chesterfield, Daventry and Gloucester.

43 of you managed pbs in the slightly cooler conditions (although it was still warming up during the morning) ☀️

Many thanks to everyone who is volunteering with us tomorrow.

Just a reminder, that as the 22nd of August falls on a Saturday this year (the only time in this calendar year this happens), some of us will be dressed up in tutus! (22).

It is not compulsory, but having a tutu on will certainly be appreciated, and bring more smiles to people's faces.

So feel free to join in with Burnage parkrun tutu day tomorrow.

Currently our roster is as empty as the nations reservoirs and waterways!

As vital as these are, we too can only operate with a number of essential roles filled.

Burnage parkrun currently needs:

8 more marshals

(Including 2 for the Car Park Entrance/

2 more Barcode Scanners

There is also spaces for someone to do the token sorting afterwards.

With the school holidays being on, many of our regular volunteers are away.

Some of us will also want to turn up in tutus.

Here is a very sad looking Calum and Lynsey. We can't have this look for Saturday 22nd August!

Yes, you read that right - it will be that one time this year where parkrunday lands on a date starting with 2️⃣2️⃣ - otherwise known as tutu day!

So this Saturday, let's have lots of folk wearing tutus!

It would also be good to have 2️⃣2️⃣ volunteers on the day.

We are looking for folk to fill the following roles:

- First Timers Welcome

- 1 x Timekeeper

- Marshals
(Including 2 for the Car park entrance)

- Finish Tokens (Giver outers)

- Barcode Scanners
