Braehead Football Club

Braehead Amateurs took on St Rochs today in our first competitive game of the season. We started the game well on top & we were creating numerous chances which we failed to take. Jake Webster was causing lots of problems down our left but it was when he recieved the ball in the centre he was the player who put us one up when he burst through the middle & chipped the Goalkeeper. This was to give us a lift & we must have had close to 20 shots in first half with loads of clear cut chances . We know the score though when on top you must score. We were punished in 35 mins when St Rochs got in behind our left back area although player looked a good few yards offside & they took advantage with their first chance of the game to equalise. This gave the away team a lift & we seemed to switch off & we were punished by losing 2 really bad goals to astonishingly find ourselves 3 1 down at halftime despite dominating game. We were forced into a couple of halftime changes & this didn't help as we lost a very early 4th goal. We pulled one back from the penalty spot when Liam Bone sent the keeper the wrong way & we created & missed a few other very good chances . Again we were punished when St Rochs were to score a 5th. Final score Braehead 2 St Rochs 5. A real tough one to take where we should have been out of sight in first 30 mins. We dust ourselves down & go again next week.

Our 2013s make it 4/4 in their league cup run and are on their way to the semi final 🥳.

A strong first half saw us up 2-0 going into the second half but Garnkirk's pacey subs caused us problems which allowed them back into the game. The boys did well to see out the game and take all 3 points with a big save from Harrison coming at the right time.

Braehead Amateurs had a very good session last night with 20 players in attendance as we prepare for our first competitive game as we take on St Rochs AFC in the first round of Strathclyde Cup. Game is a 9am ko at home. Let's get of to a winning start lads 💪. Teamwork Makes The Dreamwork

Our 2013s have their first home game of the new season tonight in our next league cup game. The boys have taken 6 points in their last two games and hope to add another 3 tonight.
