A walking group, open to all that takes advantage of the scenery around Stirling University. Walks start at the MacRobert Centre at 10.30am every Saturday.

Our group started in 2009 as an collaboration between the University and Active Stirling. During that time our numbers have varied between 6 and 25 and we have managed to walk on over 48 weeks of the year. We also vary in age and level of fitness but this doesn't seem to make any difference because the most important thing we have in common is our enjoyment of walking. Our walks vary from fairly f

Saturday. 22nd August.
Starts at the MacRobert Arts Centre at 10:30am.

Today's walk is down into Bridge of Allan and round Haws Park. This is the park next to the Allan Water. The walk is mainly flat with just a couple of short uphill stretches. The forecast is for sunny spells and light winds. Ian

Thanks Pat for leading on Saturday's walk to Cocksburn reservoir via the Black hill path, thanks also to all who joined us on the day. We met up in the Meadowpark for a farewell meal as Lynn is leaving Scotland to return to England to live. We wish her all the best for the future and hope to see her at some point in the future when she hopefully returns as a tourist!

Starts at the MacRobert Arts Centre at 10:30 am.

Today's walk is Blackhill to the reservoir.Blackhill is a small hill to the north west of the campus and the reservoir is Cocksburn. The walk has some lengthy uphill stretches and should last about 2 hours. The forecast is for sunny spells and a gentle breeze.Stout footwear is advised as the path round Blackhill can be a bit lumpy and occasionally muddy.Ian

Today's walk is down the River Forth via Cornton Vale. The walk is mainly Flat with just a couple of short uphill bits. The forecast is for light cloud and a gentle breeze with maybe a shower thrown in later on. Ian

Today's walk is up to the Abbey Craig. This is the volcanic plug topped off with the Wallace Monument. The walk has some lengthy uphill stretches and should last about 2 hours. The forecast is for light rain. Showers and a gentle breeze, so wet gear is advised. Ian
