Maldon United Monthly Roundup | August❤️🖤

August was a really busy month for us here at Maldon United as we built towards the new season.

Our squads had been back out playing, getting valuable minutes into the legs and, more importantly, getting used to the demands of playing at a higher level. Pre-season is never about results for us. It’s about testing the boys, trying different things and seeing where we can improve before the season gets properly underway.

We’ve also introduced our new Xbot video recording equipment, giving us another tool to support player development. Being able to record sessions and games means we can look back at performances, identify areas to work on and give players a much better understanding of their own game.

Pre-season training has been a big focus throughout August of course, with the squads working hard to get themselves ready for the season ahead. There’s been a real focus on intensity, technical detail, decision making and understanding what we expect from our players both individually and as teams.

Alongside team training, we’ve continued our 1:1 development sessions throughout the summer. These give players the opportunity to work specifically on their own game and focus on the areas that will help them progress.

Our summer camps have also been running throughout the holidays, giving players plenty of opportunities to get on the pitch, have fun and continue developing outside of their normal team environment.

We were also really excited to officially launch the new Maldon United kit for the season. There’s something special about seeing the players in the new colours for the first time, and we’re really looking forward to seeing it out on the pitch this season. A big thank you to Ahrend and Car & Van Hunters for sponsoring us.

We finished August with our opening presentation to the players, setting out exactly what we expect from everyone representing Maldon United this season.

The standards we set aren’t just about football. They’re about attitude, behaviour, commitment, respect and being willing to learn.

We’re excited to kickstart the season now and continue pushing on!

GIRLS FOOTBALL ON FRIDAY NIGHTS ⚽️

We’re starting a dedicated Friday night girls football session at Maldon United.

The sessions will be aimed at players looking for advanced training, delivered by UEFA B licensed coaches, with an eventual pathway into 2027/28 Girls JPL and Saturday squads.

🔴⚫ Maldon United Monthly Roundup 🔴⚫

It’s been another busy month at Maldon United as we continue our preparations for the new season.

Pre-season training is now well underway, with every squad back on the pitch from our U7’s to our U12’s. The effort from all of the players has been first class, and it’s been great to see our first friendlies take place. These games are all about getting minutes in the legs, building confidence and continuing to improve ahead of the season.

With the World Cup on over the last few weeks, we couldn’t miss the chance to get involved. A lot of our training sessions and Summer Camps have had a World Cup theme, with tournament-style games and plenty of healthy competition. The players have loved it.

We also enjoyed a fantastic club trip to watch Colchester United take on West Ham United. It was great to see so many of our players, parents and coaches together away from training, and hopefully it gave the players a bit of extra motivation for the season ahead.

Our Summer Camps are now up and running too, and it’s been brilliant to see so many children coming along. The camps are always a great chance for players to stay active over the holidays, learn new skills and, most importantly, enjoy their football.

There’s still a lot of hard work to come before the new season starts, but everything is moving in the right direction. We’ll keep building throughout August and we’re looking forward to seeing what this season has in store.
