Cancellation of LocHARDman Triathlons 20th May.
Sadly the best winter for skiers is also the worst for Scottish open water triathletes. With just over a month to go and water temperatures still below 6c I have taken the decision to cancel LocHARDman triathlons. It is highly unlikely that that water temperatures will rise to a level safe enough for competitive triathlon racing featuring a cycle on public roads... and I am not for organising a duathlon.
The decision has been made now ( a month out) to give athletes the opportunity to make alternative training arrangements, rather than unrealistically wait and hope.
All those on the entry list have been emailed previously about possible cancellation and to get their feedback. Emails sent again today to confirm. Full refunds will be actioned the week after next.
If you were transferring / deferring to LocHARDman from another race please get in touch to arrange alternatives.
It’s not what athletes want, it’s not what I want, but following this year’s massive snow fall and low temperatures it is the right thing to do.
