On a mission to EMPOWER the people of Southsea by moving their bodies + instil confidence to all ✨

Well… it’s been a while 👋🏼

Once again my IG has taken a back seat as life has become FULL in the best, busiest and slightly chaotic way

I’ve returned to teaching spin, started teaching some new reformer RX classes at BHLive Pyramids, continued working with my amazing clients at Anytime Fitness Southsea and my online clients… and I’ve also been studying for something very exciting that I can’t wait to share soon 👀

And then there’s the other amazing side of life with my now 10-month-old. Chasing him around constantly, a million play dates, trying to make time to be present as a wife, spending proper time with family + friends and just trying to enjoy this season of life rather than constantly feeling like I should be doing more - because people weren’t lying when they said that this stage FLYS.

I’m not going to promise that I’ll suddenly become amazing at keeping up with IG as I probably won’t 😂 but I do want to try!

So basically thanks for still being here 🫶🏼

Looking forward to hopefully seeing some familiar faces and excited to meet some new ones too 🩷🩵

6 months postpartum and I am continuing to rebuild strength and reconnect with movement 💛🌻🌼

This whole postpartum recovery is taking a lot longer than I anticipated. I’m starting to accept that my body may never feel like it did before but I am hoping it will eventually be just as strong. However, I know how important having strong foundations are before I can start increasing again.

Remember every postpartum body is different and recovery can look different to each. Recovery will look ifferent for every person from the type of birth, length of labour and sometimes reasons we simply don’t have clear answers for. What I’m focusing on is specific to my body and my goals, and that will look different for every mama 🫶

Here’s what I’m currently working on and some reasons why:

🌼 Pelvic tilts – to restore mobility and control through my pelvis. I’ve noticed a more posterior tilt since pregnancy, so I’m focusing on regaining balanced movement.

🌼 Glute bridges - to strengthen my glutes, and rebuild pelvic floor after pregnancy and birth.

🌼 RDLs - to strengthen glutes and hamstrings, well the whole posterior chain. Also restore hip hinge and leg strength to help support lifting my baby as he grows.

🌼 Squats w. Adductor Squeeze - I have to thank for this suggestion. I found squats were creating some pelvic floor pressure, so this cue helps me feel more inner thigh engagement and support during the movement.

🌼 Single arm Bent Over Rows - I’ve been noticing my posture is different especially with breastfeeding I’m feeling more round shouldered. Strengthening my back should help me feel more balanced and unilateral work will identify any imbalances.

🌼 Pallof Press - always was a favourite for targeting the TVA. The anti-rotation activates the deep core muscles and trains core stability again. Also been great to help with breath co-ordination.

🌼 Tricep Extensions - to balance out the constant use of my biceps from holding my baby and pushing the pushchair!

It’s slow progress with a lot of patience right now and as I would tell my clients, that’s okay! 🌻💛🌼

💜 Little update! 💜

All my personal training sessions have now moved to sunny Southsea 🌞💜✨

As I live here and most of my clients are based here too, it felt right to bring everything closer to home and make things easier for everyone 💜

I’m really grateful for where I started Empower with Elise Personal Training and everyone I’ve worked with so far to help it grow. Now onto a new chapter in a fresh space Anytime Fitness Portsmouth-Southsea 💜

Same me, same approach.. just a new location 🌞💜✨

I’ve currently got 1 space left for PT on a Friday —so if you’re Southsea-based and have been thinking about starting, feel free to drop me a message 🌞💜✨

I’ve spent the last 6 months immersed in being Mama, and honestly I’ve never felt more me in the role ❤️

But tomorrow I’m adding a little extra back seeing clients in-person 1 day a week - for now.

I’m really excited to see all my wonderful clients again, and step into this part of myself once more. While holding onto every moment of my beautiful baby growing right before my eyes 🥹.

Time is moving ridiculously fast (I never believed it when people told me), I just want to treasure it all. Finding this balance, trying to be present and enjoy all sides of Elise ❤️

Postpartum update 🍼+ progress pics so far ✨

I actually filmed this 2 weeks ago planning to post it straight away… but here we are again, me getting in my head about sharing this 🙃🥲

That said, I’m feeling really proud of myself. I’ve stayed consistent for 11 weeks now with 1 strength session and 1 spin class each week (only missed one when I was feeling poorly). My steps are averaging around 7,000 a day, and that’s starting to feel so much easier… especially with the sunshine lately ☀️.

Food wise, I haven’t ended up tracking calories like I originally planned last month — and to be honest, with a baby, I just didn’t want to. It wasn’t going to be an aggressive cut anyway as I still need to keep calories high while breastfeeding, but adding calorie counting into my day just felt like too much 💛.

Instead, I’ve focused on being more mindful with my snacking and portion sizes, which has felt much more realistic. I’ve also made a big effort to stay on top of my hydration — especially important while breastfeeding 🫶.

It might not be perfect, but it feels sustainable to me and right now, that’s what matters most 🤍

Your midweek reminder 💛

As a new mum my body definitely does not look IG ready 24/7 and that is the norm! Clothing, the way you stand, lighting can all make such a difference to your appearance. Please don’t forget this when you are doom scrolling 💛

If you’re navigating postpartum or working on yourself right now, BE KIND TO YOURSELF. Results take time, and any progress is still progress 💛

Please don’t compare yourself to the fitness influencer that works out for a living, telling you to “just make time” for 4+ workouts a week. Your life and your season are different and individual to you 💛

You’re doing better than you think 💛

Meet my girl Laura 🩷

Laura, who at the start of 2025 dreaded a 10am session with me and hated the gym. Laura, who now chooses to train at 6am independently… and actually enjoys it 😍.

Yes, she got stronger and lost body fat. But the biggest win is the confidence and mindset shift.

There was plenty of holidays, festivals, and real life - and not cutting out any favourite foods. Just a routine that actually fit around her lifestyle and has adapted with her/

So so proud of you Laura 🥹🩷

If this sounds like the kind of training you need, my DMs are open 🩷
