In this session, our students are sharpening their **jab, cross, hook combinations** on the pads, developing their timing, accuracy, power, and movement while working together and pushing each other to improve.

Every strike has a purpose:
๐ŸฅŠ The jab sets the distance
๐Ÿ’ฅ The cross brings the power
๐Ÿ”ฅ The hook adds the angle and finishes the combination

But kickboxing is about much more than punches โ€” itโ€™s about confidence, discipline, fitness, and becoming better with every session.

When the temperature rises, we find creative ways to keep training fun! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Our TRK Juniors swapped the usual targets for something a little different during the heatwave โ€” bubble punching! ๐Ÿซง๐Ÿ‘Š

The students had a fantastic time practising their reactions, timing, accuracy, and movement while chasing down bubbles fired from the instructorsโ€™ bubble guns!

Of course, behind all the fun there are still valuable skills being developed:

โœ… Speed and reactions
โœ… Focus and control
โœ… Confidence and teamwork

"I'm self-employed. If I break a finger or twist my knee, I can't work and my family doesn't eat. Is this safe?"

It's a valid question. If you join a gym full of 20-year-olds trying to prove how tough they are, the injury risk is real. But that is not what we do here.

At SKMA, we teach authentic, traditional martial arts. Our primary focus is on character development, technical mastery, and longevity. We want you training into your 60s and beyond.

Structure creates safety. There is absolutely no uncontrolled, aggressive sparring. You will learn how to move your body correctly, how to generate power safely, and how to control your techniques. We build the foundation deliberately.

You will sweat, and you will be challenged. But you will wake up the next day able to go to work. We train adults who have responsibilities off the mats.

Weโ€™re continuing to build practical skills, confidence, and awareness at SKMA Martial Arts with Session 3 of our 10-week Self-Defence Course this week.

Missed the first couple of sessions? No problem โ€” you can still join us! Each session is designed to build valuable real-world skills, and youโ€™ll be able to get involved straight away in a friendly and supportive environment.

Throughout the course, Chief Instructor Sean will cover essential areas including:

The course is open to everyone aged 13+, including both men and women, and no previous martial arts experience is required.

Our SKMA Juniors have been hard at work practising their long forward stance with a punchโ€”one of the fundamental building blocks of traditional martial arts.

A strong stance provides stability, balance, and power, while helping students develop coordination, focus, and good posture. By combining this with a well-executed punch, our juniors are learning that every technique starts from a solid foundation.

It's these fundamentals, practised consistently, that help our students grow into confident, disciplined martial artists.
