Our first win as a team!

With Hedge End having bare numbers, our player/manager Tash kindly offered to play for the other team to give them a solid 11 with a sub so that we could focus on getting our formation as a 11 down. Playing as centre back for them, she made it incredibly hard work for us to break down their defence, even assisting them with their first goal!

We had a rocky first half trying to find our shape, but a great goal from Ellie kept us in it. We regrouped at half time, got our heads back in the game and managed to dominate the second half well with goals coming from Sammy, Gracie and Leah. Their keeper had an amazing game and kept the scoreline down, and their defence made everything hard work for striker Sammy.

POTM could've gone to anyone really, but wingers Leah and Beth tied the vote today for their tireless efforts and endless runs and crosses!

Another really fun Sunday, Hedge End Rangers were a great team and we wish them all the best for their upcoming season.

We were looking forward to this week's game as we were all feeling better and excited to have a few more new players have their debuts with us.

We started strong with a couple of early chances and did well to keep an experienced Panthers side out for quite a while, before they finally got a long range worldie to get in the game. We did well to equalise with some fantastic link up play across the team, with our new striker Sammy calmly putting away her first goal (and definitely not her last!) of the season.
Shoutout to Beth as well who almost got an absolute banger of a goal herself from the halfway line with a cracking volley! Great save from their keeper who just managed to tip it out. Panthers then did well to put away another before half time from a misjudged bounce, but we regrouped at half time and kept the second half at 0-0. Our new players really grew into the game, and by the end of the second half we were dominating play, and were unlucky to not net another goal.

A game that was friendly through and through, we had a great afternoon with the Panther girls and wish them all the best for their upcoming season!

Our player of the match this week voted for by the team goes to Leah. One of two players to play the full 90 minutes in a game where heat and humidity created a challenging environment, her effort levels never dropped and multiple last ditch clearances and sweeping across the back line helped support the team in keeping the scoreline tight right up until the final whistle. We're proud to have Leah playing with us again this season!

Ready to face a solid Panthers side this week. With a few more new faces again this week, we look forward to getting another good game under our belts!

Our second friendly of the season against a strong BTC side who will be in our division next season. With a team marred by illness, the heat to contend with and another handful of new players in their first game for us, we knew this was going to be a tough game! We did well to get a few early chances and control the game at the start, but credit to BTC who stuck to their tactics and came out fighting after the first drinks break. As the game went on, our subs became more and more frequent as we battled through, but overall BTC were strong enough to just keep us out.

A game full of smiles and a lovely atmosphere, we really look forward to playing BTC in the league, where hopefully we have two fit squads!

Shoutout to our player of the match Sharley. A new player to us who is new to football, she played her first ever 90 minutes and did a fantastic job! With a fairly unanimous vote, everyone agreed that we could see all of our training going in and the rapid improvements she has already made. She was a menace down the right wing, managing a few cheeky crosses and generally interrupting their flow all game. The work rate never dropped and we are proud to call her a team mate.

Good afternoon all,

A few people wished to make a donation for Ronnie when he was sadly taken too early. We are getting a bench in his honour which will be “opened” on 10th Jan, which is Ronnie’s 18th.

Appreciate the time of year but if you can give anything.

We will host a jog / travel (so you can walk, bike, scooter) around Lordshill Rec on 20th Dec 9am start and 27th Dec we are having a Christmas gathering & will do raffle, scratch cards at Brass Monkey in Shirley 2pm
