Feeling deep gratitude to Kim .imkota.massage for the most wonderful few days!
I really needed this space and time to reset, to learn and to grow.
It’s the most time to myself I’ve had for 7 years! Being a mum is wonderful but it’s easy to loose yourself in meeting everyone else’s needs. But for 5 days, I just let myself be looked after, and they did that so well!
The food was insane, , the setting idilic and the other gorgeous women on the course made it so special.
And….I learned a beautifully nourishing and connected style of deep tissue massage that I can’t wait to begin offering along side my yoga classes. (Was also massaged a fair bit too - which was heavenly!)
Thank you to my hubby and both sets of grandparents who held the fort and kept everyone fed! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I’m in practice mode right now but will be offering appointments for Deep Flow Massage from September 😊
Finally, thank you me. For allowing myself the time and valuing myself enough to prioritise my own wellbeing and future self. 💜

This week I’m in Spain learning Deep Flow Massage with the beautiful Kim Massage Course - Massage Therapist 🌿 and I’m loving soaking up the new information, sun, and delicious food! We had the opportunity to practice yoga this morning and it made me feel so at home in my self to step on the mat. Learning always puts you outside your comfort zone, back in the beginners mind, the uncertainty, the “how will I ever remember all this?” And the “what if I’m not good at this?” But I felt like that with yoga once and now it feels so natural, like my true state of being. So if you’re beginning something new, learning, finding your way, remember to lean into the not knowing and trust your body, stay with it and all is coming.

This is a reminder to look after yourself this bank holiday weekend and if your body has been asking for a pause, this is your invitation to finally give it one.
Bank holidays (and let’s not forget half term for those with kids) can easily become just another busy time filled with plans, catch-ups, and endless to-do lists.
But rest is productive too. Slowing down, breathing deeply, and allowing your nervous system to soften is just as important as everything else on your calendar.
This class is designed to help you fully switch off:
✨ Gentle supported poses
✨ Deep relaxation
✨ Space to release tension and reset
✨ A chance to reconnect with yourself
If you’ve been feeling tired, overwhelmed, stretched thin, or simply in need of a moment to exhale, I’d love for you to join us.
There are just a few spaces left, so this is your last chance to book your spot.
Prioritise yourself this bank holiday, your body and mind will thank you for it.

It fascinating to learn about how our bodies are structured and how that structure influences movement. Did you know that the facet joints are oriented differently in the different sections of our spine and therefore allow different directions of movement? When we do a twist, only a tiny amount of that twist happens in the lumbar spine as the facet joints are aligned vertically. But it’s very good at forward and backward bending! Of course other factors will influence movement and there’s loads of variance between individuals too! Can’t wait to get into this on Sunday on teacher training with the new batch of students!

I like to turn up to class with a nicely written out lesson plan, curated playlist, 25 mins early. Run through my plan, sit and meditate and feel completely ready to welcome and guide my students……
It doesn’t always work like that though - this is the real world!
This has not been a great week, my poor sis had a burst appendix and was in hospital the same time as she was moving out of her old house, so along with the worry about her and visiting her in hospital, I was sorting out her house (cleaning, painting, selling things) and trying to keep my own house and family going! I woke up Wednesday morning feeling pretty awful, hadn’t slept well (hello day 2 of my period) and then went back to sleep around 6 and overslept, I felt drained, stressed and achy!
My plan had been to get up at 6.30, Make Jaspers lunch and write out my class plan, but that obviously didn’t happen. So I rushed about, trying to get 2 kids ready for school, didn’t have time to wash my hair and drove (late) straight to class panicking about what to teach.
On the way I took a few deep breaths and thought -trust yourself, you can do this, you’ve been teaching yoga for 17 years!! Pretend you are writing a class for yourself - and I knew what to do - go back to the fundamentals, breath (pranayama) and focus (dristi) to bring me back to the present and calm the racing thoughts. I actually LOVED the class I taught, allowed my intuition to guide me and spoke from the heart. It also reminded me that yoga is a PRACTICE, the practice of calming the fluctuations of the mind, you are always coming back to the practice, that’s yoga. We are humans and we have human brains that love to overthink!
It doesn’t actually matter what postures you can or can’t do, whether you journal daily, pull oracle cards, do breathwork, how fancy your lesson plans are etc. what matters is returning again and again to the simple practice of focusing the breath, the gaze, the awareness.
Life is hard at times, mothering is hard, running a business is hard. Stuff happens. That’s where yoga becomes more than just an hour on the mat. That’s when yoga becomes a living practice, a lifelong one. 17 years and counting.
So lucky to have this space on our doorstep, quite literally in my case!!
This is the venue for my ReSet day retreat on 12th July! Im so excited!! 😁
I was lucky enough to join Indika aka for the most wonderful conscious dance morning. She runs them monthly and I really think we ALL should do this! I feel so free and inspired now, especially for my ReSet retreat here in July.
We all need to take some time out for ourselves, time to release, get out of our heads and into our amazing bodies. Being able to not only attend but also facilitate these sorts of soul nourishing events fills me with joy and deep gratitude. 🙏
