So stoopidly stylish it's insane. You hum it, we’ll sew it. Beautiful, bespoke clothes for men, women & children of character. Twitter - NewsfromBedlam

Screenprinting done on site for our own tees and knitwear. Sit with us and create the suit of your life then acquire all extraneous accoutrements for the look that gets a double take of admiration. It's not about running down the street shouting "Look at me, I'm mad for fashion!" It's about the inventive-eccentric accent that rewards close up inspection, solicits a second glance.

On its way to the USA is the straight-to-finish “Sans Souci” jacket! As we have made for Michael before and he has maintained his match fit figure, we are able to confidently make this without a fitting. Named for the German palace of Michael’s forefathers (perhaps), the name denotes a care free but top grade attitude to down time dressing.

Designed to tackle the searing summer heat of Virginia, it is unlined but for the sleeves. Also used to bind the seams, the glamorous lines on the pitch, the fabulous silk from Pongees Silks flashes like the Bluebird of Happiness against the soft brown and gold of the 76 % wool / 14 % silk / 10 % linen cloth from

A loose belt at the back can be used to give shape, fastened with a real horn buckle from Thebuttonshop who also sourced the buttons for us.

Brian was in the paddock doing his best honking donkey impression, to express, we hoped, his enthusiasm for this latest piece for Michael. In case it was more complex than that, the vet had us take him in. You will be relieved to hear they think it’s nothing more than summer congestion. Still, considerable money was exchanged for a packet of powder and a handful of pills before he went back to the outdoor rave with sidekick Tommy.

We hope Michael and Heather Lore will be dancing with delight next week when the jacket lands with them.

Meanwhile, we’ve got a match to win! C’mon England! Three Brian’s on a Shirt!!!!

Merci à ma soeur Zaza Demol for sharing her photo of our classic Covid days tote tonight, a little forlorn, at the airport in

What a place to have been this last week! Oh that they could have got through, but this tournament will be remembered for their achievement.

Hopefully the England team are no where near any transatlantic check in tomorrow.

Bravo Cap Verde, we salute you.
Tonight we cheer for ENG-GER-LAND!!!

If you’re p**p decked with pirating and now getting ready to relax on vacation in Bedlam-sur-Mer (or planning a visit to us to take advantage of our slow puncture paddling pool), you’ll be wanting the Bedlam Beach Bag of Summer ‘26.

In a heavier canvas than the Jack Sack, it has a sturdy gusset, and we all love one of those. Stops your bottles of vino from listing port side. As ever, we give you the indispensable zip up pochette in unbleached canvas, for keys and a 2p piece for the payphone (ahhh, I was heat-stroked back to the summer of ‘76 for a moment there).

We’ve also put in a second canvas divider in grey, the full depth of the bag (42cm), for your flip flops and swimming togs.

Round the sturdy webbing handles is a little chain of shells and star fish, and another clip for something you might need to keep handy.

Opens to 50cm but stands 32cm at base due to the aforementioned gusset.

Dark blue embroidered in gold with, “Earl of Bedlam depuis deux mille dix avoir du chic”…
which is to say, “EoB stylin’ it out since 2010”.
Talking of Chic, big fond shout out to Nile Rodgers and Duran Duran, playing in hot Hyde Park this afternoon / right now, thank you for letting represent us! Brian’s breathing funny in the heat, honking like a seal, we need to keep an eye on his old bones.

I had expected to post this hours ago but underestimated how long it would take to get a thick needle through layers of canvas. On the local news a few evenings ago, they covered the huge canvas sail from Nelson’s warship Victory, discovered under piles of gym mats. About to go on display in Portsmouth, it was all sewn by hand, in awe they did declare. I immediately pictured myself cross legged on deck sewing like a sailor.

This bag is £60 + £10 UK postage, £20 r.o.w.
If the number of blisters now on my finger were factored in, it would be considerably more.

But talking of VICTORY… we expect every English man and woman to do their duty and to stay up late tonight!! So that gives you plenty of time to get your order in.

Public Service Announcement….
Only travel if ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!!! Well if you can tell me a reason more absolute and necessary than being invited to ‘s birthday party you’re trying too hard.

Following on in our series, “How to stay Chic in the Heat” in quintessentially British style, that started with the knotted hanky on your head, today we celebrate socks with sandals.

Thank you of for my straw that that I adore more with every passing summer;
Merci Isa pour ma robe si jolie;
thank you for filming.
What you don’t get to see are my voluminous men’s cotton boxer shorts underneath, another tip for keeping cool in the chaleur.

More later from the sizzlin’ streets of London and the hopefully air conditioned Savoy Theatre. Pip pip!!

How hilarious is this painting from the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition? “Dinner” was painted by Natalia Shaloshvili and is an uncannily accurate depiction of the reaction that word elicits in our house. We are, as ever, grateful to Heather Glover for curating it for our own London Season highlights.

Society lady that she is, Heather attended the exhibition wearing her limited edition gold embroidered on black bamboo Bedlam tee. £80 + £15 tracked postage (£20 r.o.w.)

we love your painting! Sadly, but understandably, not for sale.
