💙 Craft Night update 💙

Tonight's Craft Night is cancelled — sorry for the short notice!

With a hectic summer holiday season for us and the lovely Fully Woolly in the middle of a shop move, we're taking a well-earned break this month.

Craft Night will be back as usual on the last Thursday of September — see you then! 🧶

This evening Wyatt (7) and I headed up the road to Board on the Waterside Dibden Purlieu for a Warhammer 40k learning session — and honestly, what a find. 🎲

£6 per player, everything provided, and proper private tuition — that's just an incredible deal.

Massive thanks to Danny, who kept a 7 year old fully engaged for TWO HOURS ⚔️ Patient, clear, and obviously a true expert in his craft. Wyatt didn't want to leave.

We're already talking about making this a regular thing together.

Board on the Waterside have built an incredible space for tabletop and TCG players — resources we could only dream of. (We're still the number one board game cafe and bar around here, obviously 😉 — but for these hobbies this is the place.)

♟️We welcomed The Waterside Chess Club for another hugely successful open session!

👀 Lots of interested folks stopped as they passed by and many sat for a game or a chat with members.

☀️The sunshine made it all feel very European! ✈️

The handsome husband of our very own Vicky even stopped in for a match... Though he forgot to mention his history of regional championships 🦈

📣Appreciation Post!📣

Today we had a group of 3 girls, probably early-mid teens, come in and play games together and enjoy some time in the cafe.

Not only was it so nice to have a group of polite and friendly teenagers hanging out, enjoying wholesome social activities, and proving that most of them aren't "up to no good"...

But on top of that, our 4 and 7 year olds (who think they own the place) decided to join them uninvited and "teach them some games".

These 3 girls were so welcoming and charming and kind with our young boys. They included them in their fun and were just lovely.

We thanked them before they left and told them they should be proud of themselves, but they smiled and shrugged it off (as teenagers do).

If these are your children then thank you, and well done, and we know you must be proud! ❤️
