FULL-TIME RESULT | CUP DRAMA AT THE QEII

What a cup tie! A proper, gritty battle against Redlynch & Woodfalls United ends with the Legion securing the win via a penalty shootout.

Fawley RBL 1 – 1 Redlynch & Woodfalls Utd
(Fawley win 3–1 on penalties)

Mark Hartmann had us on the board in normal time, finishing off a solid move to keep things deadlocked at 1–1 through to the final whistle.

Cometh the hour, cometh the gaffer.

With duties on the sideline usually his focus, Neil Nelly D laced up the boots, pulled on the gloves, and stepped straight between the sticks today. When the shootout arrived, the boss produced absolute heroics, pulling off two crucial penalty saves to turn the tide and send us through with a 3–1 win on penalties! 🧱🧤💪🏻😸

Match Summary:

⚽️ Goal: Mark Hartmann
🧤 Shootout Hero: Neil Darby (2 penalty saves)
📊 Penalties: Fawley RBL 3 – 1 Redlynch & Woodfalls Utd

Massive shift from every single lad out there on the pitch today to dig in and get the job done.

A late post from the rollercoaster of a weekend, but plenty of reasons to hold our heads high! ⚽️🙌

We got off to a flying start on Saturday, heading into the break 2-0 up thanks to two goals from Ben Sharp. The opposition battled back hard to make it 2-2 at full-time, and after a tense shootout, we were edged out 5-4 on penalties.

The day started on a high note off the pitch, too. We stopped by the Waterside Veterans Coffee Club on Saturday morning to lend a helping hand. Huge thank you to everyone there for the warm welcome and your continued support for the club, it means the world to us! ☕️❤️

Again we would like to thank Blackfield & Langley FC for allowing us to use the pitch at short notice 💚

Tough way to go out, but the energy, community spirit, and team performance give us massive momentum moving forward.

We dust ourselves down and go again next week!

Both teams are coming off impressive wins last weekend with Chandlers Ford beating BTC Reserves 6 - 1 & our 7 - 1 win over Sarisbury Sparks, showing all the markings for an end to end thriller!
