Congratulations to our under 11 Blue team on their recent tournament success! ⚽️⚽️🎉🎉⚽️⚽️
What a team !!!!!! Lions played with such resilence and determination to go and win the Denmead Tournament. We finally got it over the line, after being knocked out in the semi finals, on pens, in the last 3 tournaments we have entered. We didnt make it easy, going down by a goal in the semis but fought back with a clever leveller. Back to pens in the semis again but this time we won 11-10 😱. In good Lions fashion we went 2 down in the final, but this team found some magic left in the tank and scored 3 fantastic quick goals. The last 2 mins were tense but we defended our hearts out and thoroughly deserved the win. So Proud of this team 💙⚽️🦁
Hot Weather Update – Training & Club Sessions
Due to the extreme temperatures forecast this week, all football activity before 7pm is cancelled in line with our hot weather safety protocols.
Sessions scheduled between 7pm–9pm will be at coach discretion, following the club’s hot weather policy and with appropriate safety measures in place (regular drinks breaks, reduced intensity, shaded rest where possible, and close monitoring of players).
The safety and wellbeing of our players, coaches and volunteers must always come first.
Please keep an eye on team WhatsApp groups for any updates from your coach.
If weather conditions improve, this decision will be reviewed and the post will be updated accordingly.
Thank you for your understanding and support — please stay safe and keep cool this week!

I was completely blown away today.
After my final Locks Heath Lions World Cup tournament as Chair, I was presented with this incredible picture and a Waterstones voucher (which may already be mentally spent!).
The picture is brilliant and sums me up rather well – football, books and a healthy obsession with ChatGPT! 😆
It’s been a huge part of my life for the last few years and I’m proud of everything the club has achieved. I’ve met some wonderful people, watched so many children grow in confidence, and made memories I’ll always treasure.
Now it’s time for a new chapter. The Waterstones voucher is especially perfect as anyone who knows me knows I never seem to be far away from a book!
A huge thank you to everyone for such a thoughtful gift and for making my final tournament such a lovely day ❤️🦁📚

See you there!

Chair Role – Locks Heath Lions ⚽
After three years as Chair of Locks Heath Lions, I’ll be stepping down from the role on 31st May.
It’s been a huge privilege to be part of the club and to support so many players, coaches and families over that time. I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved together.
We’re now looking for someone to take on the Chair role and help lead the club into its next chapter.
The role is focused on the overall governance of the club — making sure we’re operating in line with FA and league rules and that the right structures are in place.
It includes:
• Supporting the committee and helping guide decision-making
• Overseeing key areas (safeguarding, finance, fixtures etc.)
• Acting as a central point for communication where needed
• Maintaining relationships with leagues and external partners
• Helping shape the direction of the club going forward
It’s less about day-to-day coaching and more about the bigger picture and keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
If you’re interested, or would like an informal chat to find out more, please feel free to get in touch. Please also share with anyone who may be interested.
Thank you again to everyone who has supported me over the last three years — it really does mean a lot ❤️
Huge congratulations to our U16 Blues!
