Back pain doesn’t mean you’re “broken” — it’s actually very common in runners 🏃‍♂️
From training load and recovery to strength and mobility, there’s usually more than one factor involved. The good news? With the right approach, most runners can keep moving, keep improving, and run pain-free again. 💪

You’re not alone — and you don’t have to stop running to address it.

New Year’s Resolutions 🎯

The start of a new year is a traditional time to commit to a resolution — often things like losing a few pounds or increasing physical activity.

But here’s the reality:
▫️ 25% of New Year’s resolutions fail within the first week
▫️ Only around 8% are actually achieved

Don’t let the pessimists and doubters put you off. 💪
Research shows you’re up to 10 times more likely to achieve goals set at the beginning of the year compared to any other time.

If increasing your physical activity is your goal this year — good on you! 👏
Just 30 minutes a day, even something as simple as a brisk walk, can:
✔️ Reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes
✔️ Lower the risk of cardiovascular, respiratory, and neurological conditions
✔️ Reduce the risk of some forms of cancer
✔️ Improve bone density and muscle strength
✔️ Help reduce excess body fat when combined with good nutrition

It’s never too late to start — small, consistent steps make the biggest difference. ✨

🦶 Chronic Plantar Fasciitis Progress Update 🦶

I’ve been working with a patient who presented with chronic plantar fasciitis on both feet, experiencing significant heel and plantar pain, especially at rest and first thing in the morning—a classic and often frustrating pattern for this condition.

After just two treatment sessions, the patient has reported a 50% reduction in pain and symptoms, which has been a fantastic step forward.

What Treatment Has Involved
• Soft tissue therapy to the plantar fascia, heel cord, and gastrocnemius
• Joint manipulation to the ankle, fibular head, and hips to improve mobility and load capacity
• Education and flare-up management strategies, including:
• Ice rolling
• Relative rest
• Fascia and calf stretching

Rehabilitation & Goals

The long-term goal is for the patient to return to running. With their symptoms improving and exercise tolerance increasing, they’re now feeling confident to begin graded exposure to running on the treadmill—starting with run–walk ratios over the next few days.

This structured approach allows us to build resilience gradually while keeping symptoms under control.

Great progress so far—looking forward to pushing further toward pain-free running! 🏃‍♂️✨

🤓 L E A R N I N G 🤓
What I’ve learned about patients since practicing.

⭐️ When I graduated as a chiropractor in 2016, I quickly learned that the most important lessons came from my patients.

⭐️ Beyond techniques and anatomy, they taught me the value of truly listening, noticing the small details in their movement and stories, and building trust.

⭐️ I realised that chiropractic care is not just about the hands on approach—it’s about understanding the whole person and helping them take an active role in their own healing.
