Matchday 4 v Sunderland AFC Women’s Academy

Jaxon ⚽️⚽️
Ellis ⚽️⚽️

The lads were absolutely on fire today against a tough and very skilful Sunderland girls side! Jaxon set the tone with a stunning half‑volley to open the scoring, showing great technique. From there, the whole team just clicked. Ellis added another silky finish, and even when Sunderland got one back, our boys never lost their heads.

Ruben, our number one goalkeeper, was immense — pulling off an unbelievable penalty save and staying rock‑solid all game. Then came more magic: a great corner from Caleb, Ellis volleying one home, and Jaxon smashing another brilliant strike from distance to keep the momentum flying.

And let’s not forget the defence — Jona, Harra and Aiden were rocks at the back. Up top, Caleb and Reggie worked tirelessly for the lads, and on the wings Ellis and Oscar grafted non‑stop. Every single player worked their socks off today — tackling, pressing, listening, and showing exactly what we’ve been drilling into them. Couldn’t be prouder of the whole squad — well done, lads, keep it up!

MOTM: Jaxon Brand — our midfield general. Two great goals, relentless tackling, and the fight and passion to win. Brilliant to watch. Keep it up 🏆

Match Day Three – Whitburn Panthers

⚽️⚽️ Reggie
⚽️ Ellis

A tough Saturday for the Harton lads. We weren’t at our best, and at this level you’ll be punished when standards drop.

The boys actually started well, with Reggie reacting quickest to Caleb’s cross and turning it home. Whitburn, though, weren’t going to roll over, and they hit back with two quick goals to take a 2–1 lead into half‑time.

Just like the first half, the lads came flying out the blocks after the restart. Harley’s quick feet saw him skip past two players before setting up Reggie for his second of the game. But Whitburn’s aggression and hunger for the ball proved decisive, and they grabbed another two goals — a real sucker punch.

The lads did pull one back late on when Reggie’s corner found Ellis, who volleyed home brilliantly.

A rough game overall, and the boys knew it wasn’t their best day. We regroup, train hard, and prepare for next week.

C’mon Real 💪🏻

MOTM – Ellis ⭐️
With a few lads away on holiday, Ellis stepped up as our midfield general. Everything bright we did went through him, and he worked tirelessly from first whistle to last. Outstanding shift, mate. ⭐️ Ellis

Match Day Two - Seaham Roseberry

⚽️ Harley

As Saturday’s goes this was probably the busiest the lads have ever had. Having to leave straight after the match and head to Newcastle for the junior GNR. A quick hour turn around. ⚽️ 🏃‍♂️

The game was 2 evenly matched teams with both defence’s standing firm. The game deadlock was broken by Seaham but the lads replied with a great team goal. Some lovely link up play finished with Harley tapping it past the keeper. More chances came but Seaham held out to share the points.

A tough game. But the lads worked hard and if they had a few more minutes they may have grabbed the win. On to the next one.

C’mon Real 💪🏻

MOTM - Harley ⭐️ worked tirelessly, a real threat with every run he made and was maybe unlucky not to bag more goals. Well done mate ⭐️ Harley

Match Day One vs Hebburn Town Gold Madrid

⚽️⚽️⚽️ Ellis

Back at Ford Hub for the start of the U10’s season, taking on a Hebburn side we hadn’t faced before with 2 lads missing it meant we only had one sub. It turned out to be a real game of two halves — some excellent football in the first, and a tougher, scrappier second.

A bright start from the lads saw Harley and Ellis pressing high, forcing Hebburn to panic at the back. Their pressure paid off when Ellis won the ball and calmly slotted it past the keeper. His second came shortly after from a corner that curled in.

Hebburn, who had been working hard, pulled one back from a scramble in the box. Ellis restored the two goal lead when a quick kick in and long range strike found its way into the net. Unfortunately, Hebburn grabbed another with the final kick of the half.

The second half was all about digging in. Hebburn piled on the pressure, and the lads struggled to find their usual rhythm, giving away a few unnecessary free‑kicks. But they held firm, battled to the end, and secured the points — starting the season with a win.

It wasn’t the prettiest, but a win is a win. On to next week. Big shout out to Caleb and Jaxon for stepping up and taking a half each in goal in the absence of Ruben Courtois

C’mon Real 💪🏻

MOTM – Ellis ⭐️ Played multiple positions, worked tirelessly, and led by example. Three goals to kick off the season made him the clear choice. Well done mate. ⭐️ Ellis

The lads stepped into the Clash of the Titans tournament today, us coaches knowing they were up against teams several divisions above them. We didn’t tell them any of that — all we asked was to work hard, stick together and never give up.

And they delivered. Every single one of them brought their best. Some unreal performances across the pitch meant they finished 3rd in their group, earning a well‑deserved semi‑final spot.

In the semi‑final they gave everything they had left. The effort, the running, the tackles, the bravery — all there. Eventually the legs went, the steam ran out, and the boys fell just short. But what a day.

What they achieved today was brilliant. Ranked the lowest team in the competition, yet beating high‑level sides and showing real class. They proved exactly what we already knew — they’re great players with huge potential.

C’mon Real 💪🏻

MOTT – Ruben ⭐️
Choosing a MOTT today was almost impossible. Every player was outstanding. But when two separate coaches come over and say, “you’ve got yourself a very good keeper”, it tells you everything.
Making some unreal saves, keeping us in games, and showing real confidence under pressure.Well done mate. ⭐️ Ruben
