The biggest thank you of them all!

Anyone who has done it, or been with someone who has done it, knows bodybuilding preps are an inherently selfish endeavour.

The amount of control, restriction and neuroticism it takes to step on stage absolutely peeled and how we expect is not only tough on the athlete. It can put a lot of strain on relationships and even bring some to an end.

Scarlett, however, has been my biggest asset this whole prep.

She has made my life easier in every possible way. She has tolerated my 3:30 alarms when it was time to do my cardio, joined me on annoyingly long walks, worked around my mountains of meal prep and millions of bags every time I left the house, had to accept not doing a lot to celebrate our first valentines, Christmas, and her birthday all so I could stay on plan. And although I know it hasn’t been easy, the fact she was willing to do it made this whole experience easier and far more fun and rewarding now that it has come to a close.

Although I’m the only one on stage, this certainly wasn’t a solo endeavour! She has sacrificed just as much to allow me to achieve my goals over the last 9 months.

With the last show done, we have some life to catch up on, a future to build and i only hope i can be as supportive of her dreams as she has been of mine!

My final show of the season, bringing a 36 week prep to a close!

This was a great show to finish with, and I brought by far my best look of the 3- leaner, fuller and happier!

Again, being in a stacked line up meant no first call out finish, but I’d rather not place in a line up of impressive athletes, than win in a shallow field!

There’s plenty of people to thank, and some can’t be summed up in a post, but here goes:

A massive thank you to and for coming to the show to support me and all the way through prep!

I also want to thank everyone at who has helped encourage me and shown interest in what I’ve been doing.

I want to thank for not only showing enthusiastic support all the way through, but also helping me choreograph my posing routine which was a point of praise in my performances.

I want to thank the big dog himself for his phenomenal work. Despite not wanting to work with bodybuilders, he took me on and invested into this journey as much as I did. He never let me back off or accept a lower standard, while also keeping my head on straight during the harder weeks. I never felt forgotten or like he hadn’t thought every aspect through to make sure I got exactly what I needed when I needed it.

I want to give a second lot of thanks to Ben and Yollie for also being patient with me as energy dropped at work and I was ultimately less productive. Still making sure I was busy, while also being willing to lighten my workload if I needed it, making sure I never had more to do than my brain had the capacity to handle!

I want to thank my family for tolerating my antisocial life, missed birthday meals and general absence over the last 9 months.

Lastly, I haven’t forgotten , but she is worth a post to herself for how she has helped me in this prep!

Coaching is more than simply sending workouts!

I want my clients to reach their goal and enjoy the process along the way.

How you get there is as important as getting there. And I want my clients reminiscing on a positive overall experience and ready to take on whatever they set their sites on afterwards.

Client Result- Rob’s Ultramarathon Success

Last year Rob ran the ‘The Wall’ for his first ultra, and did an incredible job. However, this year, he managed to improve on his time by a whole 12 minutes.

This was a very different prep compared to last year, with no marathon before it, changing of jobs and different expectations form the race.

Rob did aha amazing job of managing training round a busy work schedule, doing everything he needed to from a training and nutrition standpoint, and is also phenomenal at fuelling at pacing during the race!

A great performance to lead us off into prep for the Tallinn Marathon in September!

Avoiding lifting kit (or not learning how to use them properly) is a big mistake in my eyes.

The goal of your S&C is to develop specific physical qualities. If that kit allows you to better focus on those specific qualities, or spare other things while we do that, it’s a win in my eyes.

4Strong SGPT progress for

Block 4&5 finished off with a 3RM test for the squat, bench deadlift as our main measures of progress.

Tracy has absolutely smashed these last two training blocks, with some serious progress in her lower body strength!

Let’s see what we can do with another 12 weeks!

Movement quality matters!

It makes you more efficient, allows you to apply more force and reduces your risk of injury.

However, this requires getting strong in positions similar to that experienced in sport.

And if you either avoid or can’t get into those positions in a slow and controlled environment, you leave yourself very susceptible to injury or just s**t at it when you try and do it at speed in a competition setting.

So don’t avoid stuff just because it’s tough or isn’t simply throwing some weight around!
