🎉🏉 THERE IS A LOT HAPPENING AT SKIPTON RFC ON SUNDAY! 🏉🎉

Our Minis and Juniors Open Day and Pre Season Party is almost here.

From 11:30am on Sunday 27 September, we are planning a full afternoon celebrating junior rugby and the community around it.

There will be skills based rugby training, food for the children, music in the clubhouse, a tuck shop, second hand kit stall, registration help for new families and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the club.

After lunch we will head back outside to showcase different forms of junior rugby, giving parents and spectators the chance to see everything from tag rugby through to touch rugby across our age groups.

We will also have fundraising taking place throughout the afternoon, helping us raise money towards activities such as our Christmas party, gifts and future trips for the children.

Our Minis and Juniors will then get changed into their new kits and help welcome the Skipton Roses onto the pitch ahead of their 2pm kick off.

And there is one more deadline to remember…

🎨 Our merchandise design competition closes on the day with an opportunity to enter at the open day.

Parents should send their child’s entry to our page through Messenger, including their name and age grade.

The winner will be announced on Sunday.

🦒🏉 Giraffes is joining the Skipton RFC family! 🏉🦒

We are delighted to announce that Giraffes Parent and Child Sessions are now officially part of Skipton RFC Minis & Juniors.

For a number of years, Giraffes has given local families a brilliant introduction to rugby through fun, relaxed sessions for parents and little ones. Bringing the sessions into the Minis & Juniors setup means families can now become part of our rugby community right from the very beginning, with a supported pathway into Under 7 tag rugby when the time comes.

And there is some more good news too. Lee is back, and he will be joined by new coach Tom, helping make sure sessions can continue even when Lee is at work.

🎨🏉 COULD YOUR DESIGN BECOME PART OF SKIPTON RFC?

There are only a few days left for our Minis and Juniors players to enter our new merchandise design competition.

We want the children themselves to help shape the future of our Minis and Juniors clothing range.

The challenge is simple.

Create a rugby themed design that you would love to wear on a T shirt or hoodie.

It could be bold, funny, colourful, traditional, simple or completely different. There is no need to be an expert artist. We want imagination and ideas.

The winning player will see their design turned into real merchandise, have the products featuring the design named after them and receive their own free T shirt.

All profits from our Minis and Juniors merchandise help support the section, so the winning player will also be creating something that gives something back to their club.

We are opening the doors at Skipton Rugby Club on Sunday 27 September from 11:30am for our Minis & Juniors Open Day and Pre Season Party, and everyone is welcome.

Whether your child already plays rugby, has played before, or has never picked up a rugby ball, this is a great opportunity to come down, meet the coaches and families, and experience the friendly community behind our Minis & Juniors section.

There will be plenty happening throughout the day:

🏉 WONDERING WHAT A SUNDAY AT SKIPTON RFC MINIS AND JUNIORS IS REALLY LIKE?

Come and experience it for yourself on Sunday 27 September.

Our Open Day and Pre Season Party is designed to give families the chance to enjoy the whole Minis and Juniors experience.

We will start at 11:30am with skills based coaching, just as we would on a normal Sunday, giving the children the opportunity to develop, have fun and enjoy being part of the game.

After training we will head into the clubhouse for something to eat.

There will be music playing, a tuck shop, our second hand kit stall, the clubhouse bar open and plenty of opportunity for parents to chat with coaches and other families.

If you are considering joining us, we will also have people available to help with registrations and answer any questions you might have.

Then we head back outside.

We are planning to showcase different forms of junior rugby across our age groups, from tag rugby for our younger players through to touch rugby for the older children, giving everyone watching a chance to see how the game develops as players progress.

Our Minis and Juniors will then get ready to welcome the Skipton Roses onto the pitch before their 2pm kick off.

It should be a brilliant afternoon of rugby, families and club life.

We are delighted to announce that our brand new Skipton RFC Minis and Juniors kit has arrived and is now ready for players to collect at their next training session.

It is fantastic to see the new kit finally here, and even better to know that our players will soon be wearing it with pride throughout the season.

To celebrate the launch of our new Skipton RFC Minis and Juniors merchandise range, we want our players to help us create what comes next.

We are inviting every current Minis and Juniors player to create their own rugby themed design that they would love to see on one of our future T shirts or hoodies.

The winning design will become part of our merchandise range.

🏉🎉 MINIS AND JUNIORS OPEN DAY AND PRE SEASON PARTY 🎉🏉
We have a fantastic afternoon planned at Skipton RFC on Sunday 27 September, and we would love to welcome current families, returning players and anyone thinking about giving rugby a try.
⏰ Starting at 11:30am

We will begin just as we would on a normal Sunday, with skills based rugby training led by our coaches. It is a great opportunity for our existing players to continue developing and for new children to come along and experience rugby in a friendly and welcoming environment.

🏉 ANOTHER GREAT SUNDAY MORNING AT SKIPTON RFC MINIS & JUNIORS ❤️🖤

Another brilliant training session this morning, with children from across our age groups coming together for a joint warm up before splitting into their own sections for more focused, age appropriate coaching.

There were plenty of smiles on the pitch, lots of energy, and just as importantly, plenty of parents in the stands enjoying a catch up while the children trained.

It was also fantastic to welcome a new player down for their first session, with more enquiries coming in from families interested in giving rugby a try.

That is exactly what we want to see.

At Skipton RFC Minis & Juniors, we are proud to offer a friendly, welcoming and inclusive environment where children can make friends, build confidence, learn new skills and, most importantly, enjoy playing rugby.

No previous experience is needed. Whether your child has played before, wants to return to the game, or has never picked up a rugby ball, they are very welcome to come along and see what we are all about.
