Lily and I have been working on something

In between pizza and football related pints I've actually been putting together a nutrition guide designed to help you get back to basics with your approach to food

You'll learn how to simplify your intake and use your actual training and lifestyle as the basis of your plan

No weird rules, nothing cut out, and room for the occasional pizza or booze up if that's your thing

Sound too good to be true ? This exact approach has worked with many of my clients over the years.

It's even the method I used in my own body transformation. And I've put it all in this guide. The strategy. The theory. Even a few stories of the ups and downs.

Lily supervised most of it. Mainly from the sofa, mainly with one eye open, occasionally demanding a break for cuddles

No macro spreadsheet you need a degree to understand. No "cut out carbs" BS. Just a simple way to eat that fits around your life, not the other way round

Dropping soon

Gary Eats

Second one of these and it's an ugly one.

Yesterday was a write off, food wise. Bad planning, looking after my mates house, and I got to 6pm having eaten precisely nothing all day.

But I had a plan. Here was my big chance.

The Ultimate Hot Honey ’Nduja & Pepperoni.
Large.
13.5 inches.
Twelve slices
2668 calories for the whole pizza.
224 per slice.

It was biblical mate.

I even loaded it with extra chorizo, chicken breast strips and ground beef.

Trying to get that extra protein in.

Smashed six slices there and then.

Been grazing on the rest through today. Gift that keeps on giving. Leftovers pizza is the best

Nutritionally the best thing going?Obviously not. But I don't run from junk food. I just know how to manage it and make it work for me not against me.

But with extra protein, flat base... the only way to improve more would be to go smaller or take the cheese off, and that's not a pizza anymore, that's just a big circle of breaded sadness.

Used to smash a whole one in one sitting for fun. These days it's rationed over two days and I'm alright with that.

Back to eating clean tomorrow. Totally worth it.

What is your Deliveroo go to ?

DISCLAIMER: Gary Eats is not nutritional advice. Just a real world look at what I'm eating, usually while I'm eating it.

So as part of my accountability in my own glow up I'm gonna be sharing some of the stuff I'm stuffing in my gullet this time around

I tend to eat on the run so become a bit of a Jedi when it comes to searching out the best nutritional options in a pinch so for the first one we're starting in the real world and some where many of you might find yourself this week

Starbucks

In the before times this would be a caramel latte (400 calories) a chocolate chip muffin (470 calories) to go with the tuna panini (480 calories)

Almost 1500 calories for a zoom meeting 😂

The milky bu****it and chocolate joy has made way for a triple espresso (zero calories) and a water (0 calories)

The panini stays tho... 28 grams of protein - the most you can get from one food item at Starbucks...

As you can tell, I miss the muffin ☹️

DISCLAIMER : Gary Eats is not nutritional advice. It's just a real world look at what I'm eating usually while I'm eating it. Don't come at me if you hate tuna.

August 2023 : This is where we're trying to get back to.

At the time the journey was never about weight loss.

It was about finding myself again. Training regular. Eating right with consistency.

During the process I did drop about 15kg in body weight.

And honestly, through the whole process I never felt restricted or like I was even doing anything groundbreaking.

I just trained regularly - not killing myself - some weights, but of jiu jitsu, plenty of steps - didn't even touch the cardio machines.

Same with the food, I wasn't starving myself, still plenty of booze, takeaways and treats. Just trying to put a number on it all and making sure I didn't go too far too regularly.

It all sounds really easy when you put it like that.

Now I'm not going to sit here and act like I'm not at an advantage over most people.

Not because there's anything special about my genetics or athletic ability. There isn't.

It's because I know the rules, it's what I do for a living. That's the main difference between me and you. I know what is bad advice and good advice, I know the things that are going to give me the most change. I also know what's a waste of time.

I still know the rules now. I've just been going out of my way not to follow them. I wish I could be one of those trainers that were "ON" all the time. I'm just not built that way. I'm far too emotional for that 😂

The cool thing is every step of that journey back then had been recorded. Every workout I did, every meal I ate. All documented within my training app (yes I use the GaryTheTrainer app to train myself too)

I'm currently building something that will show you exactly what I did and how I did it. Partly as a reminder to myself that if I did it once I can do it again.

But more importantly so it can help anyone else out there who wants a simple no bu****it method to get these sort of results for themselves.

It will be part nutrition planner, part cook book with a few stories in there too.

Sound like something that would help you ?

Can't wait to share it with you all.

First Monday of the second half of the year and time for a bit of trademark Gary honesty: I'm bang out of shape at the minute.

I'm heavy, feel sluggish and just generally uncomfortable in my body right now.

The last time I posted a "watch my progress" reel like this was just before Christmas.

At that point I was in a relationship, living in a great home with a routine and security.

Over the first half of the year that all changed and I don't mind admitting I've been in a bit of a depressive funk for most part of 2026.

I've barely trained at the standard I expect of myself, made more bad decisions than is smart to admit, and generally allowed myself to wallow in a s**t place.

I've also smashed an ungodly amount of Jaffa Cakes.

Honestly it's been pretty ridiculous: It was the hot honey ones that started it, then before I knew it I was parking 12 a day for fun.

So all that has led me to here. Half way through the year and ready to give my head a wobble.

It's not all bad tho. I am currently leading an awesome small posse of women on to gym floors all across Europe.

Guiding them, motivating them, enabling them to absolutely smash.

The strides these women are making as part of She Lifts is some of my proudest work.

20 years I've done this. Through breakups, addiction, running away, clients ghosting, relocation and lockdowns.

I've still always tried, not always successfully, to show up for my squad. The ones that choose to work with me. For all my flaws. It's all I know how to do.

For the back end of this year I'm going to try and put some care back in to me too. I'll be talking you through my process of how I'm training, how I'm eating and what it if really going to take to get me firing again.

I'll also be talking about this awesome oestrogen filled harem I've assembled and how they are all smashing it in a multitude of ways as part of their training with me. Inspiring me to get rolling properly.

Also got a few bits and bobs lined up for you that are going to help you get a bit of control back. Stay tuned.

There won't be any Jaffa Cakes...

The first time I posted this video I ended up leaner than I'd ever been as an adult 4 months later...

I had something resembling abs

That was 3 years ago

Now I'm back in the same spot

Who wants to see me try do it again?
