We took a bit of a break over the past couple of weeks.
So here are some great pix from Summer school in Somerset to show what we're all about.

When a member goes to The Azores and takes a cheeky evening dip in a natural volcanic hot pool... you can take the girl out of the dojo...

We're trying not to boast, but how good does our mat stack look?

Us when Sensei is watching and we've performed the technique perfectly.

The beauty of Ki Aikido is all grades practice together, and we all learn something from our partner, regardless of grade.
(and it also means the white belt gets to throw the 3rd Dan.)
Here's a bit Kokyunage in action from this week's class.

We're not moaning about the heat, but it was darn hot last night, and we're too hot to post.

With so many different martial arts to chose from, what makes Ki Aikido different from all the rest?

In the Art of Ki Aikido there is no aggression, no violence, no tension and no competition. The purpose of the practise is to learn to co-ordinate our mind and body. Ultimately, we aim to improve the quality of our lives, and the lives of others.

Aikido is an art which can be practised by anyone, regardless of size, age or strength, by using dynamic blending movements.

Get in touch via email [email protected], or call in at the Castlefields Community Hall on Wednesdays - we practice 7.30-9.30.

(We also serve Yorkshire tea and proper coffee in the tea break. Just saying.)

Lots of extension going on in this weeks' practice!

Our focus was mainly on bokken and jo katas using the different Four Principles of Co-ordination of Mind and Body. (We like to think all our extra Ki extension played its part in last night's the football result too...)

If you're new to Ki Aikido and want to find out what we're talking about, come and join us on Wednesday evenings, 7.30-9.30!

It was a tad hot this week, but we kept our cool with plenty of ki meditation, breathing and gentle ki exercises.
The final result?
- The heat: 0.
- Us: still standing.
(And our social media team learned how to use a phone's self-timer - we always learn something new!)
