What an incredible day! 👏
A huge well done to our 9 young warriors and 5 brave adults who stepped onto the mat at the DNA Great North Open. You showed heart, courage, and real fighting spirit the results were fantastic!
Every throw, every grip, every moment of resilience reminded us of one powerful truth: it is far better to dare than to sit on the sidelines wondering “what if.” You didn’t just compete — you grew, you pushed your limits, and you made us all proud.
None of this would have been possible without the outstanding support of DNA Judo and Middlesbrough Judo, along with the incredible team of hard-working volunteers, officials, and referees who gave their time and energy so our athletes could shine. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
The feedback from players and parents has been overwhelmingly positive — smiles, pride, and memories that will last a lifetime.

All entrant anomalies have now been contacted to discuss their available options, and we can now confirm our official weigh-in times for this Sunday’s DNA Judo Great North Open Championships.

• 9:00am; U12s
• 9:45am; U16s
• 10:15am; Seniors & Veterans

Please arrive promptly for your allocated weigh-in. Keeping to these times is imperative in helping our event run smoothly and ensuring everyone gets on the mat as quickly as possible.

⚖️ Public Weigh-In
All competitors should weigh in wearing judo trousers and a T-shirt.
