I had 2 hours at my disposal…headed to the club lake with 1 rod, some pellet and tub of nutty pop ups…whittled a 12mm one down on a spinner rig in a bag, in the edge…few handfuls of chops and pellet…minutes before I had be be gone, one started fizzing up over the bait…waited until the last minute, everything away, net packed down and as I was stepping down to the rod to reel in, the rod was away…no alarm, just balanced in the floor!!! Epic battle in the w**d and up pops a lush mid 20 Oxfordshire strain mirror!!!

Team Member Matt Lamb managed to get out and bag a couple. Here is what had to say ⬇️

I arrived at the SWLT annual bailiffs' weekend trip first thing on Friday morning. With the lake resembling a city of bivvies, I was gutted - I had little choice but to fish an area where the fish didn't seem to be present.

After walking around and watching the water for a while, I opted for the Quarry Swim on the Cornwall Bank. The session started slowly, with very little happening apart from losing one fish early on. Then, at around 11:30pm, the rod screamed off and I landed a lovely fish over a big bed of the old faithful, pre glugged LT and RH particle fished with a small 2 bookie mesh bag at 25 wraps. A small common followed during the early hours of Saturday morning - and every fish counts!

After seeing several fish elsewhere and noticing that a few anglers had left, I decided to make the half-mile move. I settled into the new swim with multiple fish showing over my baited spots, but unfortunately time was against me. I had to pack up in the early hours of the following morning to get home for some family time.

Still, two fish from the venue made it a successful trip, lovely surroundings and good friends and I left a very happy angler.

🚨Beast Alert - 77lb 10oz Austrian Mirror🚨

Jason Fisher is currently out in Austria with another week to go and only has gone and banked this absolute unit at 77lb 10oz. One of the lakes sought after Mirrors, Jason tried something a little different whilst everybody else are fishing boilie hookbaits. Rod Hutchinson Legend Hardcorn Scopex doing the damage.

I arrived at baden hall on the Tuesday booked on bridge poo,l but with the carp switching off a move to glovers was on the cards. The first 24 hours seen the majority of the carp a few pegs down I knew it wouldn't be long till they turned up!

A change of tactics, fishing solid bags filled with LT crumb, micros and matching liquid cast to the far margin proved to be the right move, landing 4 fish all around the mid 20 mark within 8 hours 👌

Was a shame not to get through to the bigger fish but theres always next time.
