The aim here is to take out any unnecessary movement, stay nice and tight and make our defensive actions more economical — allowing us to defend without giving away too much space, putting ourselves out of position or opening up crucial targets on the body.

Here we’re working on keeping a tight guard and smothering when we get into close range. Then, when we feel the space open up, letting the shots go. 👊🏻
Sometimes the best defence is simply taking away the space and making it difficult for your opponent to work.
From here, we can build on this and eventually start working at different ranges, manipulating the distance and making our opponent work where we want them to. 👌🏻

The mental side of boxing is just as important, if not more important, than the physical. 🧠🥊
If your brain doesn’t understand how far your body can actually push itself, you’ll often slow down or give up long before you’ve reached your true limit.
Here I’m working with Maja to help her understand that she can stay sharp and push for longer than she thinks. 💪🏻
