It’s more than gymnastics.

Of course we want children to learn to jump, balance, climb, roll and develop great gymnastics skills.

But at RAW, what we do goes much further than that.

We use movement to help children build confidence, independence, coordination, listening skills, concentration and resilience, skills that support them both inside and outside the gym.

And this week is a perfect example.

✏️ BACK TO SCHOOL, BACK TO BASICS!

As children head back to school and nursery, we’re bringing learning into the gym too, while revisiting those all-important movement foundations.

🦁 RAW Wrigglers
Our littlest gymnasts will be learning through movement and exploration, using numbers and counting as they jump, balance, climb and travel. At this age, every opportunity to move, explore and try something independently is helping build those important early foundations.

⭐ RAW Rollers
Rawry the Lion is helping our Rollers learn about numbers, shapes and colours this week! Children will be counting, recognising and remembering as they work on their jumping and rolling skills, getting their brains and bodies working together through play.

🤸 RAW Foundation
We’re going back to basics, focusing on quality movement and some of the fundamentals behind great gymnastics, including strong jumps, body tension, stability, alignment and controlled landings.

Because progress isn't always the biggest or hardest skill.

It can be a quieter landing. Remembering an instruction. Recognising a number or shape. Waiting for a turn. Or simply having the confidence to try again.

Those little wins matter.

A gentle word to the parents watching RAW Kids Gymnastics from the side.....

We see you looking at the mats. We see you thinking about it. You're remembering being nine, and you're thinking that a cartwheel is probably still in there somewhere.

Sadly this class is not for you, but all of our RAW Kids classes are held in fitness spaces and the owners would LOVE to help you get your fitness journey started!

But leave the gymnastics to the small ones.
